Check out this six part series produced by President Larry Smoot, Jr. The storyline is based on his book, The Centennial 2029, where a man fought to keep his family together but was unsuccessful. He chose to live in isolation versus dealing with his depression in the small city of Madison, WV. Ironically, in the same city where his family has been celebrating togetherness for the past 100 years. It's the week before his family reunion and he called his children to come down early because he is facing a life-threatening surgery at the end of the week. And in a cruel twist of fate, he has found love again, but will it be too little too late for... "When the Family Gathers".

The series will air in Fall 2026.

In preparation for this year's annual meeting at the Smoot Pavilion, attached are a few documents to reference. The meeting will commence promptly at 11:30 am. If you are planning on attending, know that a significant agenda item will be to conduct voting on the proposed bylaws (images included). The proposal was developed by the Constitution and Bylaws committee and is intended to present ideas to the family for voting on each section.

Additionally, since Robert's Rules has been an important topic regarding how we conduct official business meetings, and is included as a section in the proposed bylaws, below is a link to an abridged explanation that may be helpful to any of those who are unfamiliar with the concept.

The 97th Annual Smoot Family Reunion is nearly two weekends away. During the Saturday activities at the pavilion, there will be time and space available to highlight family businesses through Smoot Wall Street. This will provide the opportunity to promote and support businesses within the family. Hey Family! The 97th Annual Smoot Reunion (August 7-9) is 5 weeks away! If you are planning to attend please fill out the registration form located at the link below.
