🇺🇸 Wisconsin SkillsUSA on the World Stage! 🇺🇸

We’re incredibly proud of Ben Strupp, who is representing the United States in Heavy Vehicle Technology at WorldSkills in China!

Ben’s SkillsUSA journey started back in high school, and he has continued to stay involved throughout his education and career. Along the way, Ben also served as a SkillsUSA Wisconsin State Officer, demonstrating the leadership, dedication, and technical skills that SkillsUSA is all about.

Joining Ben in China is his WorldSkills Expert, Greg Vannorsdel. Greg has played an important role in helping Ben prepare for international competition and is there supporting him as he takes on some of the best young skilled professionals from around the world.

These photos give us a great look at Ben and Greg in action as the Heavy Vehicle Technology competition gets underway.

We’re proud to have Ben and Greg representing Wisconsin, SkillsUSA, and Team USA on the world stage. Good luck, Ben — Wisconsin is cheering you on! 🇺🇸🛠️

Congratulations to Wisconsin College Post-Secondary State Welding Sculpture Champion Zoe Mathias from Monona. Her sculpture caught the attention of folks with AWS during this Junes SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference and as a result, Zoe will be traveling to Las Vegas next month to display her sculpture at Fabtech with the AWS Metal Artists Collective.

Today, SkillsUSA Wisconsin College/Postsecondary joined our fellow Career and Technical Student Organizations — Business Professionals of America (BPA) and Professional Agricultural Students (PAS) — in presenting to the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.

Together, we shared how CTSOs are an important part of the Wisconsin technical college experience and how they complement what happens every day in our classrooms and labs.

For SkillsUSA, that means providing students with opportunities to develop technical, personal, and workplace skills through leadership development, competition, industry engagement, and service. BPA and PAS provide those same valuable opportunities within their respective career areas, giving students across the Wisconsin Technical College System another way to connect their education with their future careers.

CTSOs are more than competitions and conferences. They provide a co-curricular experience that helps students build confidence, develop leadership and teamwork skills, connect with industry, and represent their colleges at the state and national levels.

We were proud to stand alongside BPA and PAS today to share the successes of our students and demonstrate the important role CTSOs play in preparing Wisconsin’s next generation of skilled professionals and leaders.

Thank you to the WTCS Board for the opportunity to tell our story and for your continued support of Wisconsin’s technical college students!
