Today marked a heartfelt celebration of Flag Day as the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 99 - Madill, Oklahoma and the American Legion Post 99 group joined forces with dedicated volunteers from the community, including members from the Madill Church of Christ and local Boy Scout troops. Together, they honored our veterans by placing flags at the headstones in Woodberry Cemetery, ensuring that their sacrifices are remembered and celebrated.

This collaborative effort brought together individuals of all ages, showcasing the spirit of gratitude and respect for those who have served our country. The sight of flags waving gently in the breeze not only beautified the cemetery but also served as a poignant reminder of the bravery and commitment these heroes displayed.

This morning, the Marshall County Commissioners in Oklahoma held a Purple Heart Designation event that brought together a wonderful turnout to honor our veterans. A key highlight was the announcement of upcoming Marshall County Purple Heart signs to be installed at the county lines, symbolizing community support for those who have served.

Event Highlights:

- Purple Heart Signs: Signs will be placed at county lines to honor veterans.
- Community Engagement: Residents showed strong support for our armed forces.
- Upcoming Events:
- Memorial Day holiday closure on May 25.
- Annual "Keep Marshall County Beautiful" initiative.

The Patriot Guard Riders will be participating and standing a Flag/Respect line at the service of Becky Lee Lewis, Patriot Guard Rider, Madill, OK, to be held 1:30pm, Saturday 10 Jan 2026 at New Beginnings Church, Madill, OK.

Becky has been a proud member of the PGR for over 15yrs and has stood honorably in many flag lines for veterans and first responders.

We will stand a flag line as family and friends arrive. After the services we will accompany Becky and family to Oakland Cemetery, Madill, OK for burial.
