Today we were blessed to honor our local Gold Star Families! It was a beautiful ceremony where we paid tribute to those we lost. Thank you to all the Gold Star families that attended and allowed us to honor their sacrifice.
Special Thanks to American Legion Post 3 & Auxiliary, VFW Post 658 & Auxiliary, AmVets Post 411, Rolling Thunder Inc. and the Patriot Guard Riders, Howard High School JROTC and our Guest Speaker Major General (Ret) Thomas Grabowski. Without all of your hard work this would not have been possible.

Wow, what a beautiful and meaningful gift! Thank you to the artist Cal Walker, Bolingbroke Stitch & Hide and Watson‘s Mercantile. We feel very blessed to have such an amazing community around us.
The painting will be displayed at today‘s Gold Star Mother‘ & Family Memorial event at the American Legion Post 3.

Cal Walker

A name that has become synonymous with local art here in Bolingbroke, Georgia.

But this particular piece is about a whole lot more than art.

Cal, a staunch supporter of our veterans, generously donated this painting to the Veterans Council of Macon-Bibb County and we were honored to play a small part in getting it where it belongs.

At Bolingbroke Stitch & Hide, Michelle and I have been fortunate to provide the perfect “stitch” for the Veterans Council, whether it’s been a shirt, a hat, or whatever else they needed.

And our friend and fellow Bolingbroke business owner Haleigh Watson of Watsons mercantile helped us bring everything together and make sure Cal’s donation found its way to its new home.

And the timing couldn’t be more fitting.

Cal’s painting will now be proudly displayed at the American Legion - Post 3, where veterans, Gold Star Families, their loved ones and visitors can see and enjoy it for years to come.

A piece painted by one of Bolingbroke’s own, donated from the heart, and now hanging in a place dedicated to those who served and sacrificed.

Sometimes a painting is more than something hanging on a wall. Sometimes it tells a story. 🇺🇸
