🤔 Did you know there were other songs you could use to stay on beat when giving cpr?

When giving chest compressions, you should aim for a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute — and singing or thinking of a song with that tempo can help you keep the right beat.

“Stayin’ Alive” – Bee Gees (≈ 103 BPM) – The gold standard for CPR training.

“Dancing Queen” – ABBA (≈ 100 BPM)

“Sweet Home Alabama” – Lynyrd Skynyrd (≈ 104 BPM)

“I Will Survive” – Gloria Gaynor (≈ 116 BPM)

“MMMBop” – Hanson (≈ 104 BPM)

“Uptown Funk” – Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars (≈ 115 BPM)

“Can’t Stop the Feeling!” – Justin Timberlake (≈ 113 BPM)

“Just the Way You Are” – Bruno Mars (≈ 109 BPM)

“Shake It Off” – Taylor Swift (≈ 112 BPM)

“Happy” – Pharrell Williams (≈ 160 BPM but works if you keep the chorus pace steady)

“Baby Shark” – Pinkfong (≈ 115 BPM) – Great for teaching kids.

“Another One Bites the Dust” – Queen (≈ 110 BPM) – Morbidly funny, but works perfectly.

“Eye of the Tiger” – Survivor (≈ 109 BPM)

💡 Tip: In training, instructors often recommend Stayin’ Alive or Uptown Funk because they’re instantly recognizable and have an easy rhythm to follow.

🫀 How to do Hands-Only CPR:
1️⃣ Call 911 immediately.
2️⃣ Push hard & fast in the center of the chest (about 100–120 compressions per minute).
🎵 Pro tip: Think of the beat from “Stayin’ Alive” — yes, it really works!

💡 You don’t have to be perfect — doing something is better than doing nothing.

❓️Do you have to give breaths?
