I originally earned the certification on June 1, 2005, and have recertified every three years since. CFRE certification is the standard for ethical fundraising across the globe. I've received my AFP Faculty Training Academy certificate from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)! I highly recommend this training opportunity. I've been teaching and training others in fundraising and development for over 20 years, but this course improved my technique and presentation skills. After completing the course, I went to the Presenters Room at AFP ICON and tweaked the slide deck for the workshop I was giving the next day, based on concepts learned during the AFP Faculty Training Academy. Even if you've been teaching and training for decades, take this course. It's worth it.

I'm now an AFP Certified Facilitator!

AFP ICON 2026 in San Diego is a wrap! Biggest takeaway is the fantastic educational experience I had in the AFP Faculty Training Academy (FTA) deep dive on Friday and Saturday with these lovely professionals. I highly recommend FTA to all AFP members.

I also had a great time presenting Build a Culture of Philanthropy - I Think I Can, I Think I Can, with the amazing Robbe Healey, MBA, NHA, ACFRE, FAFP on Monday morning to a packed house of 170ish conference attendees. Thank you to the Association of Fundraising Professionals for the opportunity to share our knowledge and research!
