Super exciting update from our work in Uganda today! 🎉

Today was a huge milestone:�Syonga held the groundbreaking ceremony for their very first computer lab! 💻

This will be the community’s first step into digital learning and will open doors for hundreds of kids who have never had access to computers or electricity at school. The local leaders and families came together to pray over the land and start laying the foundation — truly amazing to see.

Just wanted to share the joy. 😊 All glory to God! 🙌

Child Available for Sponsorship: Bella Egessa

Bella is 10 years old and comes from Makina village. Bella joined Syonga OVC School 2 years ago, after the death of his father George died of Tetanus disease.

Bella has more 10 siblings who would desire to be in school as well. Unfortunately, it has not been possible that way, most of them have not continued with school due to lack of scholastics and fees needed at their respective schools. Bella’s mother cannot afford to meet all the academic and physical needs for Bella and the siblings, because she was just a housewife before the husband died. Everything became worse when the husband died and left all the children in the hands of the wife.

Bella and 5 of his siblings shifted to stay with the grandmother, Susan Rose who is 75 years old. She is a committed member of Syonga church since 2007; she led all her family to know Christ at Syonga church. Unfortunately, Susan lost more 4 of her sons and daughters; they died and left children in desperate situations. The children were brought to be cared by her, she has been so hard working to bring up many of her orphaned- grandchildren together with the Church support. She is now getting weak, the need is still big, the challenge still stands...how will Bella, his siblings and others finish school?

We still trust God to provide opportunity for Bella’s sponsorship, when all goes well the burden will be offloaded for this family as we look forward for Bella’s academic future.

Greetings all! I have been hesitant to post, asking folks to provide support for "my" ministry; however, this morning I realized that this ministry never has been mine...it has always belonged to God. And I need to quit trying to do this all by myself; I need to have faith that God will provide. So here goes...the following was provided by our key contact at Syonga OVC.

Syonga OVC is Located in a remote part of eastern Uganda in Busia district, which is a boarder city to the country of Kenya. There are many different child abuse related cases which have caused long term negative impact on many households, the social, physical and emotional lives of children and families are put at risk. For example child-trafficking, child abandonment and negligence, child labor, domestic violence, and tribalism due to mixed races from Uganda and Kenya. The overriding cases here have limited not only economic–social, but also the physical, emotional and spiritual health. When we speak of children, we are specifically focused on the most vulnerable and orphaned children due to many different factors.

The leading problem is extreme level of poverty, illiteracy, and chronic illnesses. Syonga OVC center has become a place of hope where children identified as victims from dysfunctional state of life come to listen to the good news of the hope giver-The man Jesus, also access formal education, and other Bio-psycho-social support for their holistic transformation.

Therefore our goal for child sponsorship is to have a holistic investment in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children and families through biblical discipleship, provision of basic needs and
advancing education.

We are excited to have the sponsorship opportunity grow in Syonga in the near future through Such A time as this funding for each identified child for sponsorship.

We desire to move forward providing a safe environment on daily basis, where children can meet and enjoy the love of Jesus Christ, building eternal hope as we provide physical help and spiritual hope. We will always be thankful for any support you give to support a child in Syonga School to have good education, have skills and live hopeful for Christ.

Sponsorship Costs
Annual sponsorship ranges from $65 (kindergarten) to $175 (Primary 7 ~ 7th grade in US schools).
