As a deliverance minister, I know that many struggle with same-s*x attraction and I'm not surprised when a client brings it up. It comes with the territory of this ministry. When someone shares their struggles, they feel much shame and guilt - which is why I try all the more to show the grace of Jesus.
Nick and I ministered to a man involved in s*xual perversion. As we led him through repentance and forgiveness, he kept repenting for "gambling." The Holy Spirit kept telling me, "Go back further." Finally, I said, "We need to go back to your childhood." Then, with great difficulty and tears, he told us that as a child, he was victimized by an older cousin. He was incredibly embarrassed and had kept it secret for decades.
If you heard the stories we have, you might feel a little differently towards people. Statistically, 1 in 6 men experienced some kind of humiliating abuse or "experimentation" as a child. For women, its 1 in 5, and some as early as infancy.
A child who is abused by someone who "loves them," has only one way to reconcile those two conflicting realities in their mind: Dissociation (fractured soul parts). A part of their soul splits off, and holds the pain of that incident, so that they don't have to carry it at the forefront of their consciousness.
Because fractured parts are the result of a sinful action, the enemy builds strongholds around them that harbor anger, infirmities and demons. To protect the child from further harm, these parts take on ungodly functions and identities, including opposite s*x personalities.
Demons do NOT want people to know their identity in Christ, so they manipulate these parts to become gendered, or genderless identities that rebel against God and his truth. Satan has been working for millennia to pervert the lineage of the image-bearers of God and there is an epidemic of demonic assault on children.
About now, someone is yelling, "I was never abused - I was born this way!" I agree and disagree. You may have been abused and you don't remember because fractured soul parts have amnesia walls around them. But let's just say, you were raised in the "perfect home": Spirits of perversion can come down your ancestral line, join you in the womb, and you ARE born with it.
However, God offers us a "New Birth," and to become a new creation in Christ. The Greek for "new creation" means a new kind of "being." Praise God, because most of us have things in our ancestral lines that bring death and destruction! But those curses can be broken, and God will not turn away anyone who calls on Jesus for help.
Yes, the majority of those with s*xual perversion are heavily veiled and guarded from truth under the mind-control demon of "Pride," but I've worked with many, and I know they are deeply depressed, probably on at least 3-4 medications, have a list of infirmities, suicidal thoughts, and they want freedom. We can't put up a condemnation wall that keeps sin-sick souls out of God's hospital.
Once, I had a young woman sitting next to me in a group I was teaching, and she was disrupting the discussion, and treating me with disdain. I was getting truly annoyed and about to ask her to leave. I prayed under my breath, "Lord, why won't you shut her down?" He replied, "She was REALLY hurt as a child." Then he downloaded a quick scenario in my mind that explained everything. She was acting out of deep hurt, rejection and anger.
Often, we get angry with people without asking God what the ROOT of their actions are. The spirit of Rejection is typically the root and we can't come under that same rejection spirit by rejecting them AGAIN.
Jonah wanted God to condemn the whole city of Nineveh because they were truly evil, but God said, "Should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left?"
God's day of wrath IS coming! But I don't believe God wants us to be like Jonah, with no compassion, WANTING the destruction of cities. I believe he wants us to ALL be deliverance ministers, snatching many from the very flames of Hell, until that horrible day comes. Many are blind, can't tell their right hand from their left, so they truly need us to be Salt and Light to them, and I believe many will be saved.
