🌊🐾Foster River UPDATE 🐾🌊

She has recovered very well from her Spay surgery and has an incision check/vaccine booster appointment this week.

As you can see she likes dogs, she also likes other cats and she likes kids too! Honestly other animals in the home are a requirement for her forever home. She craves companionship of other animals. So once medically cleared she will be available for adoption!! 🥰

Koa 🤎 UPDATE.
Ohhh this boy.🙁 Friday marked day 5 of being off the Prednisone. But still on Budesonide (instead of Prednisone) Pepcid, Cerenia, Proviable, and prescription of Hydrolyzed Protein cat food. Up until then he had been doing good!💪

Friday morning he ate breakfast...but he didnt eat the rest of the day. And was doing a lot of scooting that evening. Saturday morning he had explosive and bloody diarrhea. 😞 By Saturday afternoon he still hadn't eaten. 😥 This is how it started the last time and he ended up having to be hospitalized. So I had to start him back on Prednisone. He still hasnt eaten today.... so I gave him some Mirtaz (appetite stimulant) 🤞

The reason for trying to get him off Prednisone is there are serious long-term risks.

●Diabetes mellitus: Steroids raise blood sugar, which can trigger diabetes—watch for weight loss despite a huge appetite.
●Weak immune system: Your cat faces a higher risk of bacterial or urinary tract infections.
●Stomach ulcers: Bleeding or sores in the gut can cause black, tarry stools or bloody vomit.
●Body changes: Long-term use can cause muscle wasting, a pot-bellied look, and thin or fragile skin

I'm so bummed this hasn't been a positive adjustment...but I haven't lost hope!! There is another med or two we can try. The Vet will be contacting the Internal Medicine Vet in G.R. to adjust our game plan. 🤞 Treating cats post F.I.P. treatment and recovery is completely new so Vets are learning as they go.

PLEASE keep my Battle Buddy Koa the Warrior in your thoughts, send him well wishes, good vibes, prayers, etc....whatever you can his way.
The little guy has been through more in his year of life than many cats go through over their entire lifetime. ❤️‍🩹 I sure wish he could catch a break.💞
