We wanted to take a special moment to feature our main Blessings in a Backpack partner, Mechanics Bank today. As soon as Mechanics heard that there was a need in the Lucas community, they immediately asked how they could help.

We are proud to partner with Mechanics in bringing the Blessings in a Backpack program back to Lucas Schools, helping close the 65-hour weekend nutrition gap for children who are fed throughout the week by their school’s free and reduced-price meal program with their nutrition-filled food packs.

Who's been to Sterkel Park's new playground? If not, it's a must see! A brand new playground and a fully accessible playground for those with disabilities. We were proud to be a supporter of this incredible community project.

It's time for another Sponsor Friday! We were incredibly honored to have Park National Bank, Mansfield Ohio sponsor both lunch and dinner for the 2026 Shelby Cooper Memorial Golf Outing. Golfers enjoyed LOTS of hotdogs and chips while on the course and finished up the day with some amazing barbecue, baked potatoes, green beans, and cookies all thanks to Park.We are so grateful for their support of this amazing cause.

It's Sponsor Friday and we are starting with our Presenting Sponsor for the 2026 Shelby Cooper Memorial Golf Outing. Our 20th annual outing was our best fundraising year yet, and we couldn't have done it without our generous sponsors like the Golden Family.

Not only did the Golden Family step up as our presenting sponsor this year, but they even showed up with extra gift cards to add to our raffle baskets! We are so grateful for their support and charitable hearts.

Did You Know... The Shelby Cooper Memorial Fund and Mechanics Bank are sponsoring the Blessings in a Backpack program at Lucas Schools this year?

Every Friday, Blessings closes the 65-hour weekend nutrition gap for children who are fed throughout the week by their school’s free and reduced-price meal program with their nutrition-filled food packs. Please support the Shelby Cooper Memorial Fund and Mechanics Bank as we bring this program back to Lucas Local Schools.

For $175, 1 Lucas student in the program receives a bag of nutritional food sent home every weekend during the school year. Help us bridge the gap for students in our community.
