We’ve been quiet lately… but for good reason: we’ve been busier than ever saving lives in our community! 🐾
Behind the scenes, our tiny all-volunteer team has been working round-the-clock, and thanks to the tireless efforts of our dedicated KAC crew and our incredible veterinarian partners, we’ve been consistently crushing our previous records (over the last eight years!) in just these last three months alone:
✂️ June: 256 spay/neuters (New Record!)
✂️ July: 295 spay/neuters (yet again… New Record!)
✂️ August: 259 spay/neuters (not a new record… but still breaking our June record!)
That’s over 800 community cats snipped n’ tipped in just the last three months! 🎉
But our lifesaving work doesn’t stop there… As the high volume of our spay/neuters continues to grow, so do the number of critical medical cases requiring additional veterinary care and urgent treatment:
🚨 June: 72 medical cases
🚨 July: 96 medical cases (New Record!)
🚨 August: 117 medical cases (and again… New Record!)
That’s 285 cases (in the last three months alone) requiring additional medical care and veterinary expenses beyond standard TNR vetting… it’s not uncommon for ONE medical case to cost in the upwards of $1,200, especially when dealing with the high volume of leg amputations, FIP cases, dental extractions, panleuk hospitalizations, eye enucleations (and in some cases, double-eye enucleations) that we’ve witnessed this summer.
These stats aren’t just numbers on a page though. Behind every single number is an innocent cat whose life matters—a cat spared from unnecessary suffering, and countless unwanted litters of kittens prevented from being born onto the streets. 🐈🐈🐈

🐾 FOSTER: We often come across cats and kittens who cannot be returned back to their original outdoor home due to injuries, illnesses, or imminent dangers within their environment. Opening up your bathroom or spare bedroom to a kitty in urgent need helps us free up critical space and resources. We will support you every step of the way throughout your foster journey! 💕
