The Ribbon Network Organization

A non-profit organization supporting families of children with pediatric cancer. Sarah Dean and Lauren Sathees were friends "in real life" before cancer.

The Ribbon Network offers support and community for families in the West Texas area living with pediatric cancer. We have provided meals, coffee breaks, groceries, toiletries and more to families currently in the hospital and a support group for families both on and off treatment. Our organization was founded by parents who have personally navigated pediatric cancer. We understand the fear, exhaus

tion, and uncertainty families face — and we believe no family should walk this journey alone. The Ribbon Network was dreamed up in May 2025, by two moms who had experienced recent journeys through the world of pediatric cancer. Their kids went to school together and were members of the same Cub Scout Pack. When their kids were both diagnosed with cancer within a year of each other, they formed a strong bond and support system between them. When Sarah thought up an idea to create informational binders for newly diagnosed families, Lauren was so excited to contribute. Soon, they grew that idea into a support group for families enduring pediatric cancer, where they could offer friendship and community for others. As Sarah says, "We are all part of this club that no one wants to be in."

🎉 July Medical Binder Update! 🎉

Because of your generosity and support, The Ribbon Network was able to provide 2 pediatric medical binders to new diagnosis families in July. 💛

These binders help parents keep important medical information, packing lists ideas, medication lists, and treatment details organized during one of the most overwhelming times in their lives.

Every binder represents a family receiving a little more organization, support, and hope as they navigate their child’s cancer journey.
