A relic from the dawn of the solar system is lighting up the night sky.

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon), this year’s brightest comet, will pass closest to Earth on October 21—its first and only appearance for more than a thousand years. With its emerald glow and twin tails of dust and ions, the comet offers researchers a glimpse into the materials that shaped our solar system.
