Normally, this is the time of year - near Barb's birthday - when we would ask for donations to help young performers.
But this week, we know that Barb would instead ask that you consider a donation of money or food to your local food bank or kitchen. The need is about to be huge.

We're excited, this month, to present a scholarship donation to Ambo Dance Theatre, an interdisciplinary modern and contemporary dance company in Louisville, whose works address social issues and the human condition.
Now, more than ever, we all need to support companies like Ambo - which offers performing arts training to students of all ages.

The "Barb Fund" announces its most recent donation:
A scholarship grant to StageOne Family Theatre, for their student training program. Some of the best regional performers began their artistic journeys with this iconic organization, and we are happy to help that tradition continue!

We're up and running and we're off to help as many performing arts students as possible receive the training they want and need, to become the chroniclers and storytellers of tomorrow!

In the past two weeks, we've presented grants to Kentucky Shakespeare, The Louisville Ballet School, and The Encore Musical Theatre Company, to support tuition costs in their student training programs. We've done this all through individual donations.

Help us as we continue! You can join us by making a tax-deductible donation to The Barrbara F. Cullen Fund, which is maintained through The Community Foundation of Louisville.

The Foundation’s office is closed 12-4 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, in observance of Good Friday. The office will resume regular hours on Monday, April 21, 2025.

The Barbara F. Cullen Fund is proud to support the summer theatre training program for young people at The Encore Musical Theatre Company, in Dexter, Michigan, with our latest scholarship grant.

Barb loved being Director/Choreographer at The Encore – for her friend, Producer (and Broadway veteran) Dan Cooney – in the theatre’s early days.

Now a major theatre company in the region, The Encore boasts a full slate of summer training programs for students.

This “Barb Fund” grant will support tuition costs for a student or students in the program.

We're proud to continue supporting students in the performing arts, this Derby Season, by providing a scholarship grant to The Louisville Ballet School, to help offset tuition costs and make the language of dance available and accessible to young people who wish to learn.
