501c3 all volunteer program providing spay/neuter assistance for cats (and sometimes dogs) in the Louisville, KY area. We help with transportation if needed.

We are not a rescue or rehoming group. We strive to fill in gaps by seeking out people in need of help with spay and neuter, as well as offering transportation assistance.

I’m moving and can’t take my cats. Can you take them?

No, but we can help get them fixed.

I’m feeding these strays and they need homes. Can you come catch them and find them homes?

No, but there are resources to get them fixed.

I’m going to get evicted if I don’t get rid of my cats. Can you come get them?

No, but we could have helped get 2 cats fixed before they became 8 cats.

I can’t afford my cats anymore. Can you come get them and find them homes?

No, but we can help get them fixed and help with food occasionally.

Spay/neuter everything to reduce the number of pets that are homeless, unwanted, and/or living in economic insecurities.

Spay/neuter is the solution. We can’t “find homes” our way out of this.

You guys…..in the last 2 weeks we have taken SIXTEEN reproducing mommas out of the business. 16 mommas get to start a whole new relaxing, healthier life.

We helped 25 total cats and 2 dogs get spayed/neutered/vaccinated this week - and many were microchipped.

To the very few people showing up for this spay/neuter/return work every week - THANK YOU. You are the boots on the ground/out in the community/seeing all the things literal heroes.

To the multiple vet staff members that meet cats we bring to clinics that need some extra TLC and you offer that to them - you are absolute heroes. In more ways than you know. You change the path of the cat and that is everything.

We know the most amazing people and have the most amazing supporters, volunteers, and followers.

And we all just keep showing up. Because this work is what it takes. It’s a life changing level of assistance for many cats and dogs. And their people.

🛑 Stop what you’re doing and contact a resource right now if you need help getting a pet fixed.

There are WAY TOO MANY ANIMALS. Way too many! Good options for all of them DO NOT EXIST.

Every birth is digging the hole deeper and deeper.

If you aren’t involved in the rescue community or your local shelter, you may not realize what’s happening around you. You may think that you’re the only one needing to rehome animals and wonder why no one will help you. There are thousands of people asking for others to take their pets right now.

Again - good options for all of them DO NOT EXIST.

Yes, this little guy in the picture is super cute. But he’s competing with thousands of other kittens right this minute to get a good home. We have to stop adding so much to the population.

Ask for the resources you need to keep your pets. They’re not disposable. They are your family.

Some of you can’t keep them and some of you won’t…..won’t figure it out and won’t do what it takes. There’s a BIG difference between can’t and won’t.

As always - spay/neuter is the only solution. Preventing the extra animals from being born into uncertainty and insecurities is the solution.

This sweet girl recently showed up for a visit at a volunteer’s home. She had no idea who this dog was or where she came from - but she put in the work, figured it out, and asked the important question “Is she spayed?”

5 year old Roxy was not spayed. Volunteer offered assistance to the owner and said “I’ll transport”.

Animal control was not called or needed.

Roxy needed a chauffeur back home and a spay so that she stops escaping when in heat.

Got a new kitten you’re wanting fixed? Please read!

WE’VE GOT TO GET THE MOMMA’S FIXED

Moms need to be fixed before kittens anytime and every time we can get our hands on them.

Why? Because she is making more kittens RIGHT NOW.

Providing vet care for your new kittens is not our obligation. It’s actually yours. But we will gladly help - as long as you are not standing in the way of the mom receiving assistance. Free vet care for your kittens is dependent on you providing helpful information about where they came from.

Hundreds of people and their mom cats have been helped thanks to people who gave us info. We are not a normal program. But we sure are a thorough one.

The mom pictured is in our trap right now. We were asked to fix her kitten and was told mom is responsible for many litters and can’t be caught. Her life is about to change 🥰

Help us help you….and your friends, coworkers, abuelas, and whoever else your kittens are coming from.

This week we had 8 pet owners scheduled for ✨FREE✨ SNIP clinic appointments with transportation provided by our volunteers.

🐾 2 pet owners were not awake

🐾 1 was not home - no message to warn us

🐾 1 forgot and couldn’t find their cat

🐾 1 carried their indoor cats outside instead of taking our carriers indoors to load them up.

🐾 1 carried 2 cats at a time to the door - appreciate the readiness but as expected, both cats panicked at the door and took off after injuring the owner.

🐾 1 had 2 cats ready to go in a soft carrier with holes in it that they did indeed escape from. (Successfully transferred to our hard carriers)

🐾 1 was awake/ready/outside waiting for us with their cat in a secure carrier.

🐾 85% of the cats made it to their appointments. That is a bad week for us. Our yearly average so far is 97%.

To be honest - this is what we expect. This is why our program exists. We’re here to help cats that would otherwise not receive vet care, harder to help situations, and people with wildly varying barriers. Attention to detail by our volunteers is required for cat safety. We get very little low hanging fruit.

We successfully helped 24 cats get fixed this week, including Chi Chi (pictured). He was pulled from LMAS and is officially available for adoption through Adopt Me Bluegrass.

We need to have a really uncomfortable conversation about animal rescue.

Wanting to save animals does not automatically make you a safe person with a safe place for animals.

Animal hoarding isn’t simply a number. Someone can have a lot of animals and provide exceptional care. The problem comes when someone becomes unable or unwilling to recognize overcrowding, illness, inadequate veterinary care, poor sanitation, financial instability, or their inability to meet the individual needs of the animals already in their care and they continue acquiring more anyway.

Rescuing isn’t just providing food and love.

A person can genuinely love animals and still be causing them harm.

Rescue isn’t measured by how many animals you can acquire.

Rescue is quality over quantity. Quality fosters, quality forever placement, quality vet care, quality sanitation.

Quality rescue work also prevents the next generation of pets from needing rescue.

You cannot responsibly save animals without boundaries.

You cannot stay sane in animal welfare without boundaries.

Someone else’s boundary is not evidence that they don’t care about animals.

In fact, boundaries are one of the things that keep good rescuers from becoming unsafe rescuers.

Stop confusing lack of boundaries with dedication.

Stop confusing collecting animals with saving them.

Stop treating “I couldn’t say no” like it’s a badge of honor.

Stop attacking people who do say no because they understand their capacity, their policies, and their responsibility to the animals already depending on them.

Hey friends….

If we weren’t able to say yes to your situation at some point and you need help so badly that you’ve become angry about it - let’s talk about it. Don’t just send a hateful message from a new profile. Communicate more about your actual needs.

We do our best to help as many people and their pets as we possibly can. It is not humanly possible to fill every need. But angry messages help no one and you always get further with more sugar, less spice. We work too hard for free to deal with hateful messages.

If you can speak reasonably to discuss your situation further, we’re here.

I got your cat spayed.

The one you abandoned after watching her struggle through 2 pregnancies and multiple dead kittens.

The one you left behind with 26 others to burden the neighborhood.

The one that lived in squalor along with you but she didn’t mind because she didn’t know any better.

The one that is so aggressively sweet and starved for affection.

The one that could have been spayed for free with transportation provided - before the situation got to this point - had you only asked.

It is 2026. If you have a phone with internet and live in or near Louisville, KY - there is no excuse for this anymore. We are a simple Facebook message or email away.
