Please join us in congratulating PRP Mathematics teacher Heather Hill (Class of 1992), recipient of the 2026 Norton Healthcare Excellence in Teaching Award. Heather will be inducted into the PRP Alumni Association Hall of Fame on March 7, 2026, at the annual dinner.
Dr. Jessica Jones, PRP Health Sciences Academy AP writes:
"It is my distinct honor to introduce this year’s Excellence in Teacher award recipient — a dedicated educator, proud alumna, and lifelong member of the PRP family, Mrs. Heather Hill.
Heather is a graduate of the University of Louisville. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry before continuing her education at the University of the Cumberlands, where she completed her Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education. Her strong academic foundation has shaped a remarkable teaching career spanning 12 years — all at PRP — following four years of service as a substitute teacher with JCPS.
Throughout her career, she has taught Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and AP Statistics, challenging students to think critically, persevere through complexity, and build confidence in their abilities. Her classroom is one where high expectations meet unwavering support.
Beyond academics, her commitment to students extends into every corner of school life. She served as Class Sponsor for the Class of 2022, coached the girls’ tennis team for seven years, and sponsored the yearbook for three years — investing countless hours to ensure students felt seen, supported, and celebrated.
Heather’s connection to PRP runs deep. A proud graduate of the Class of 1992, she met her husband in kindergarten, began dating after high school, and together they will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this October. Both are lifelong PRP Panthers, and their family legacy continues: their son Noah, a senior majoring in Physical Education and Health at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, competes on the university’s tennis team, and their daughter Reese, a nursing major at Bellarmine University, is carrying forward the family tradition of academic excellence. Both are also proud PRP graduates.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family to national parks and Disney World, exploring new coffee shops, baking, teaching children’s church and global mission lessons, and spending time with their cats.
Though she did not go directly into teaching after college, when she found her way back to PRP, it felt like coming home. The teachers who once encouraged her to ask questions, work hard, and dream big inspired her path. Today, she carries that same spirit into her classroom — challenging students to believe in themselves and equipping them with the tools to succeed.
PRP is more than a workplace to her — it is family. We celebrate not only her professional excellence but the heart, dedication, and legacy she continues to build within this community."
Thank you for all that you do for the school and your students, Mrs. Hill!
