"Links membership is open to ALL people regardless of race; as well as participation in our programs." The Links Incorporated is an organization of talented and professional women committed to enriching its members and improving the lives of African-Americans and the underserved, with an emphasis on the youth, through dynamic and transforming cultural, civic, educational and health-related communi
ty programs. The Links membership internationally consists of more than 12,000 professional women of color in 276 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Over the years, The Links has sustained its wonderful reputation of class, sophistication and grace but, most important, we are known as being a strong, reliable, community partner, with an incredible brand for excellent public service and programming. Our tagline, "Linked in Friendship, Connected in Service," speaks to the abiding spirit and consistent practice of friends providing service which makes a difference in the lives of others. Since 1951, the Louisville (KY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has strived to build upon our widely respected reputation of committed service. We are a nationally recognized and award-winning chapter, which has implemented educational programs to mentor and develop our young people, in partnership with JCPS, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and the Park Hill neighborhood. Additionally, we have expanded community-wide health and wellness knowledge, supported arts education and local cultural institutions, and developed and promoted the leadership capabilities of women. Looking towards our future, this chapter remains firmly committed to providing world-class service in the Louisville community through its transformational programs which positively impact and improve the lives of the people we serve for years to come.
