Tonight Dr. Beau Weston (Centre College, Sociology) delivered an enlightening presentation titled "The Boburbs versus the Gated Community." Members were treated to a seminar-style discussion about how and why economically similar people sort themselves into different kinds of communities. Thanks to Dr. Weston, and to Bellarmine University's Departments of Sociology and English, which co-sponsored the event.

Our next event takes place tomorrow (Dec. 5) at 6:30 p.m. Join us for what promises to be a fascinating presentation.

On Monday evening, twenty members and guests were treated to a free concert by the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra, an organization that keeps alive a musical tradition from a century ago. In addition to the concert, we were taught about the history of mandolin orchestras. Afterward we were given a tour of our concert venue, the historic Peterson-Dumesnil House, which hosts performances, receptions, and other events.
