đź’§ Help us grow the Water By Women community! đź’™

Every filter we provide means more than clean water; it means one less thing for a family to worry about and a little more hope for the community.

But we can’t do this work alone.

If you believe in what Water By Women is doing, invite your friends and family to follow our page. Share a post. Tell someone about us. Help us introduce more people to the women, communities, and clean-water solutions behind this mission.

You never know who in your circle might want to volunteer, crochet or knit filter socks, support a shipment, make a donation, or help spread the word.

The more people who know about the work, the more people who can be part of it. 🌎💧

👉 Invite a friend to follow us today, and share this post to help us reach someone new!

Thank you for being part of the Water By Women community. đź’™

More filters are on their way to Venezuela. đź’§

This is what your support makes possible.

The next shipment of Water By Women filters is headed to families in Venezuela, bringing access to safer, cleaner water one filter at a time.

Behind every shipment are the people who make this work possible — the volunteers who make filter socks and lanyards, the Water Women in the field, and the donors and supporters who help get these filters where they're needed.

And the next shipment is already on its way.

🧶 WE STILL NEED FILTER SOCKS & LANYARDS! 💧

Our filters are making their way around the world, but we need your help to keep them moving.

We’re renewing our call for crocheted or knitted filter socks AND filter lanyards. These simple handmade pieces are an important part of getting filters into the hands of the women and families who need them.

And now there’s even more flexibility! Knitted filter sock instructions are officially available on our website, alongside our crochet instructions. So whether you knit or crochet, you can help. ❤️

đź“Ł Knit one. Crochet one. Make a lanyard. Share this post. Get your crafting friends involved.

Every sock and every lanyard helps us get clean water where it’s needed most.

In this video, Rabbi Beth Jacowitz Chottiner demonstrates how the filter kit a Water Woman receives works. During Yom Kippur services this past weekend, Rabbi Beth shared the story of Water By Women with her congregation.

Rabbi Beth invited Temple Shalom KY to support an initiative originally sparked by a member of the local Jewish community, bringing together people of different faiths in a shared effort to make clean water possible.

WBW followers may remember the beautiful story behind this work: a Muslim teacher at a Catholic high school in Burkina Faso reached out to a contact in Louisville, a Jewish woman, who connected her with Water By Women. That partnership helped bring clean water to a refugee community in Burkina Faso in May. Now, the teacher and her students have identified a new community in need of clean water.

Temple Shalom has already come together to raise more than $1,000 – enough to train 12 Water Women, who in turn will provide clean water for a total of 48 families.

We are deeply grateful to Rabbi Beth and the Temple Shalom community for putting their values into action and helping make clean water possible for families in need. And if you'd like to join them, you can donate here https://waterbywomen.org/donate-now/ and select Burkina Faso under "Designation."

Thank you for being part of this work! As Rabbi Beth says: “L’chaim” – “to life.”

đź’§ Clean water is about so much more than water.

It’s about a child who can grow up healthier.
A mother with one less worry.
A family with more time together.
A neighbor who shares in the difference.

At Water by Women, we believe the most powerful part of providing clean water is empowering women to bring that change home to their own families and communities. đź’™

The filter is the tool.
The woman is the change.

🌎 Thank you for being part of the ripple effect.

đź’™ Why do YOU choose to give back? đź’™

Maybe it’s because someone once helped you when you needed it.

Maybe you believe every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy and supported.

Maybe you simply saw a need and decided you could do something about it.

Whatever your reason, your “why” matters.

At Water by Women, we believe change happens when ordinary people decide that someone else’s needs are worth caring about.

Today, we’d love to hear from you:

đź’§WATER FACT WEDNESDAYđź’§

One Water Woman. Four families. A lifetime of clean water. 🌎

Here’s something we love about the Water by Women model:

When a woman becomes a Water Woman, she receives a water filter and training to provide safe drinking water for her family. But the impact doesn’t stop there.

đź’§ She also shares clean water with at least three neighboring families.

That means one filter can help provide clean water for four families for life.

It’s a simple idea with a powerful ripple effect — women helping their families, neighbors helping neighbors, and communities working together to make clean water accessible.

Since 2008, Water by Women has empowered women in 48 countries to become Water Women. đź’™

Because sometimes the most powerful solutions start with one woman, one filter, and a willingness to share.

We did it! đź’™

Thanks to an incredible community of supporters, Give for Good Louisville was a tremendous success.

Together, we reached our goal to help 800 more families in Venezuela’s earthquake-affected communities access clean, safe water.

We’re so grateful to everyone who gave, shared our story, joined us at our open house, tuned in online, or simply cheered us on throughout the day.

THANK YOU for making clean water a reality for those needing it most. We hope you'll follow along to see the impact you've created!
