🐴We are looking for some community support as we rebuild Healing on Manes!💙
**edited to add- Healing on Manes is a 501c3 Nonprofit. Our tax ID number is 86-2858615. These asks could be in-kind donations and write-offs for businesses!**
Healing on Manes is working towards creating a safe and permanent space where we can continue to provide trauma-informed equine assisted learning (and soon to include equine assisted psychotherapy) to children and individuals in our community!
As the founder, my partner and I recently purchased our property with the intent being to build this space into adequate and safe facility for our program to operate out of. There is still a bit of work to complete prior to finding a new equine partner.
Right now, there are 3 major areas where we need support...
🌲Excavation - We need excavation work to help repair an existing swale to correct the drainage in order to create a safe and dry environment for horses. We are currently reaching out to local companies to see if anyone would consider donating a portion or all of the work as an in-kind donation.
🪜Fencing - The existing paddock and dry-lot needs to be re-fenced so that it can safely accommodate horses and provide a safe space for sessions. We are looking for support with materials, labor, or connections to someone who may be able to help!
🛠️Barn renovation - We have a barn on the property that needs some major TLC before it would be a safe and appropriate space for horses to live and sessions to occur. Realistically, this is only needed for bad weather, but still a component to taking the right steps before finding a new equine partner. I am doing as much of the work on the barn as I can independently. I do have some friends who will be able to assist with this, but any additional support is greatly appreciated!
We are lucky to have had the privilege of working with so many children and individuals throughout our years of operation and I am grateful for the progress we have made. Losing Scotty certainly wasn't part of the plan, but as I have completed my MSW, I am eager to start looking for a new equine partner and start working again with children and individuals in need of support in an alternative therapeutic setting! We are truly starting from the ground up.
We know that these are big asks and we completely understand that not everybody is in a position to be able to donate services, materials, time, or funds, but maybe you know someone who can! Sharing this post would be incredibly helpful. You never know who in your network might be able to support!
I am so incredibly grateful for each and every person who believes in Healing on Manes and the children and individuals we serve.
Help us build a new home for Healing on Manes! 🐴💙
