It's clear how much care and hard work you put into your farm. You nurture the land, tend to the crops, and see the fruits of your labor grow. We understand that your harvest is more than just a commodity; it's a direct reflection of your dedication.

That’s why the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque offers a unique way for farmers to give back. By donating a portion of your grain, you can support The LNE Community Legacy and make a significant impact on our community. This special type of gift also provides great tax benefits, allowing your generosity to go even further.

Plant a seed of hope for the future. By donating your grain, you help our community flourish, ensuring that the legacy of your hard work extends far beyond your fields.

To get started, please contact Amanda Diers at Small-town Dreams Advisory at [email protected]. She can help you arrange your gift of grain.

✨️Leader Spotlight✨️

“I have proudly called the Lost Nation and Elwood area home for nearly 40 years. I’ve raised my family, built lifelong friendships, and became involved with volunteer organizations that help make our communities special. Supporting the LNE Community Legacy Endowment is my way of investing in our future
and helping make a positive difference for generations to come. In small towns like ours, resources can be limited, and local nonprofits often rely on the generosity of community members to continue their work. I am excited about the lasting impact this fund will have."

Our First Community Legacy Project is Complete!

We are excited to announce the completion of the first project funded through the LNE Community Legacy Endowment Fund—a beautiful new welcome sign for Elwood!

The Elwood Sign Planners (ESPs), representing Elwood and the surrounding area, included Holly Fier, Ron and Joyce Paulsen, Todd and Rachel Till, Jake and Heather Vorbeck, and Carol Wirth, along with Janet Burke and Bev Brauer representing the LNE Community Legacy Endowment Committee. Over the past several months, the group met regularly, explored sign ideas from other communities, and carefully considered options before selecting a large stone sign that is both permanent and maintenance-free.

This project is a wonderful example of what can happen when community members come together to invest in the future of our towns.

Additional LNE Community Legacy projects are already in the planning stages for the Lost Nation Legion and the Lost Nation Fire Company. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we continue building a brighter future for Lost Nation and Elwood!

Thank you to everyone who supports the LNE Community Legacy Endowment Fund. Together, we're creating a lasting legacy for generations to come.

We want to give a tremendous THANK YOU to Luke and Courtney Fletcher of Fletch’s Pub for hosting a week long fundraiser for the LNE Community Legacy.

Fletch’s donated a portion of their proceeds raised during their fundraiser to our fund. We are greatful for local support and blessed to have wonderful small businesses in our community who believe in what we are doing.

Courtney Fletcher presented a check to leader member Janet Burke for $1,200. On behalf of all members of the LNE Community Legacy, THANK YOU for your gift to our forever fund ❤️

✨️Leader Spotlight✨️

I have been apart of this community for a little over 10 years now and am thankful to be working here and raising our family here. I became a part of the LNE Community Legacy with the goal of helping the community thrive and continue to be a great place to call home. I’m excited to see everything our small towns are able to accomplish with the support of the endowment!

✨️Leader Spotlight ✨️

"The Elwood & Lost Nation area has been HOME to me for over 40 years and our kids have fond memories of growing up in this community. I hope to see LNE Legacy support enrichment activities for young families, such as the Public Library, Bible School, Rustic Park, Ketelsen Learning Center, and perhaps a summer day trip or guest program for children in our communities."
