Jewish Silicon Valley

Jewish Silicon Valley Jewish Silicon Valley was formed in February 2021 from the merger of Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley and the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center.

Jewish Silicon Valley harnesses the power of community to improve lives, build bridges of understanding, and strengthen the Jewish people here, in Israel, and around the world. It provides services to the Jewish community in Santa Clara County, Santa Cruz, and throughout the South Bay.

We gathered for the Jewish Silicon Valley Business Leadership Breakfast featuring Grokker CEO, Lorna Borenstein, for an incredible conversation on a question defining our era: How do we employ AI with empathy? As we navigate the rise of tech, you must retain your human heart. Lean into your authentic self, take risks, and value your people out loud. Now more than ever, humans need to be seen and heard. Thank you to Lorna and everyone who came out to learn how we can leverage AI while staying deeply human.

On Holocaust Survivor Day, observed on June 4, we join communities across the United States in honoring and celebrating Holocaust Survivors. This worldwide initiative is rooted in gratitude for the gift of our Survivors' legacies and in recognition of their lives, families, and countless contributions to our communities.

The June 4 observance reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that Holocaust remembrance remains deeply connected to living testimony, especially at a time when firsthand voices matter more than ever.

In 2019, Seed the Dream Foundation partnered with KAVOD to establish the KAVOD Survivors of the Holocaust Emergency Fund (SHEF) to address the unmet emergency needs of Holocaust Survivors. At that time, it was estimated that one-third of the approximately 100,000 Holocaust Survivors living in the United States were experiencing poverty.

This year, Holocaust Survivor Day events are taking place in 32 KAVOD SHEF communities across the country, bringing together Survivors, families, caregivers, and community members in solidarity and celebration. Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Silicon Valley is proud to be a KAVOD SHEF affiliate serving ~350 Survivors annually.

JFS Silicon Valley is honored to celebrate the Holocaust Survivor clients we serve every day with a special event that blends music, food, and ceremony into a powerful testament to human resilience, strength, and hope.

We extend our sincere thanks to Seed the Dream Foundation for sponsoring this important event and to Jewish Silicon Valley for partnering with us by providing the space for this meaningful gathering.

Today and every day, we honor our Survivors, cherish their stories, and recommit ourselves to ensuring their legacy endures for generations to come.

No one should have to do a threat assessment before going to worship and everyone should feel safe in a house of worship.

Our CEO, Daniel Klein, is one of those leaders currently lobbying for a 300% increase in Federal funding to help secure all of our religious institutions.

Jewish Federations of North America mourn alongside the community of the Islamic Center in San Diego following today’s horrific shooting. No one should ever fear for their safety while gathering in prayer, community, or worship.

This tragedy comes as more than 400 Jewish Federation leaders from across the country arrive In Washington, DC, to advocate lawmakers for $1 billion in security funding to help protect houses of worship and faith-based institutions nationwide.

Today’s attack is yet another painful reminder that the threat facing religious communities in America is real, urgent, and growing.

Thank you to J. The Jewish News of Northern California for the coverage of our experience at the Jewish California - formerly JPAC Capitol Summit, capturing the day, and highlighting the opportunity and importance of the right and responsibility we have to lobby and educate our elected officials.

At its annual summit, Jewish California achieved a long-held goal of sending community members to lobby in every state lawmaker’s office.
