African fruit bats are crucial ecological “gardeners,” responsible for dispersing seeds that regenerate forests and pollinating key plants like baobab trees.

Only male fan-throated lizards have a dewlap—a folded skin flap under the throat that, when extended, displays brilliant shades of blue, red, and black, often showcasing this “fan” to attract females and ward off competition.

*Fun Fact*
By laying eggs in small, dug-out holes, they help turn and aerate the soil in their dry, rocky habitats.
