Bagel has spent over 700 days in a shelter kennel.
700+ days of being overlooked. Passed by. Forgotten.
But his story didn’t start there.
Before the shelter, Bagel was surviving in a homeless encampment — living in instability, chaos, and uncertainty. He was tied underneath a van while a mom dog and her puppies lived inside. The van was camped outside people’s homes, and survival was all Bagel had ever known. No comfort. No stability. No real safety.
During an argument between his owner and a nearby homeowner, Bagel reacted by protecting the only person he knew as family. That moment left him with a bite record — a label that has followed him ever since.
But what people fail to see is everything that came after.
Since entering the shelter, Bagel has shown nothing but love to every person he meets. Despite the abandonment, instability, and heartbreak he has endured, he continues to choose trust. He continues to choose love.
That’s what makes this so heartbreaking.
Humans have failed this dog over and over again, yet he still looks at people with hope in his eyes. Hope that someone will finally stay.
And nobody has.
No applications. No real interest. While other dogs leave the shelter, Bagel waits behind kennel walls watching life pass him by.
Bagel would do best in an adult-only home where he can finally feel safe, understood, and loved the way he deserves.
Please help us change the ending to his story. Share him. Foster him. Adopt him. Give him the chance nobody else ever has. 🖤🐾
