What does it take to prepare the next generation of geoscientists?

The SAGE team recently attended Geological Society of America (GSA) Connects in Denver, Colorado, where they presented, “Summer of Applied Geophysical Experience (SAGE): An EarthScope Partnership and Team Science Field Course.”

This poster focused on the current SAGE-EarthScope Consortium educational model, lessons learned, and challenges faced while striving to offer an inclusive and immersive learning environment to future geoscientists.

Jacob Anderson, SAGE 2026 Teaching Assistant, fully represents the power of learning geophysics by doing geophysics.

Jacob first discovered SAGE while working at the U.S. Geological Survey, where he was introduced to geophysics on the job. Inspired by colleagues and mentors, he is now helping guide the next generation of geoscientists.
