This past weekend, WSFD crews responded to a working fire involving a semi-truck that spread to additional vehicles and a nearby structure. Multiple units were on scene. Firefighters worked to contain the fire and prevent further damage.
No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.

We recently had a new member training night at Medina Public Works.

Engine 21 was out in full force, hose deployments, pump operations, and hands-on time in full bunker gear. This is how West Suburban Fire District builds its next generation of firefighters.

Whether you prefer burgers or steak, summer means grilling season and West Suburban Fire District wants to make sure yours stays safe.

A few reminders before you fire it up:
• Use propane and charcoal grills outdoors only
• Always open your gas grill lid before lighting
• Keep children and pets at least three feet from the grill
• Never leave a lit grill unattended
• Clean your grill regularly- grease buildup is a leading cause of grill fires
