LHS Athletics email from today:
Good afternoon and welcome back!
Here's a look at what's ahead for fall athletics, plus a quick reminder as we get the season underway. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Athletic Calendar
All athletic events are listed on our Athletic Calendar (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1psfRtiYwTAYD-uEMAfHOYeB9wGi_RxoZkoDAaAT8zz8/htmlview =914389073). It's updated daily, so we encourage you to check back often for the most current schedules.
Fall Season Important Dates
September 15 – Fall Sports Picture Day. Mahoning Valley Sports will email a purchasing link directly to parents once photos are ready to order — no photo forms, cash, or checks needed on picture day itself. If you don't receive the link or run into trouble ordering, just reach out to our photographer, Kevin Campbell, after photos are taken.
September 20 – Apple Cider 5K & Lordstown Alumni Soccer Game
September 26 – JAS Lordstown Cross Country Invite
September 29 – Youth Soccer Night, Varsity Soccer vs. PV
October 5 – JH & HS Pink Game vs. Bloomfield
October 7 – Senior Night at the HS Volleyball game vs. Leetonia, honoring our Varsity Cross Country, Golf, and Volleyball seniors
October 12 – Senior Night at the HS Soccer game vs. Jackson Milton, honoring our Varsity Soccer seniors
Fall Sports Awards Night will be held after the season wraps up. We're still finalizing the date, as we're waiting on one more county banquet date to be facilitated — we'll share the exact date as soon as it's confirmed.
A Friendly Reminder on Fan Conduct
Lordstown Local Schools is proud of the spirit and support our community brings to every game. We simply ask that everyone — parents, students, alumni, and community members — help keep that spirit positive by showing good sportsmanship at all times, win or lose, toward one another, our opponents, and the officials. This goes for home games, away games, and any OHSAA tournament event where Lordstown is represented.
As a quick refresher, our parental conduct expectations and Fan and Spectator Code of Conduct are outlined in Section X and Section XXIII of the athletic handbook (attached). Taking a moment to review them helps ensure everyone can enjoy the season together without any bumps along the way.
Thanks so much for your continued support, and here's to a great fall season for our Lordstown athletes!
