To all my caring friends and family, thank you. Thank you for helping us reach half way to the goal in only 3 weeks. Starting this benefit raffle I wasn’t sure how well it would do, but man did it surpass my expectations.

Thank you to everyone that sat and listened to me talk about Sam and Rex. Shared every post, multiple times. Tagged your friends. Encouraged others. I feel very lucky to know the people I do. I don’t say this enough, I’m sure of it, I LOVE YOU! ♥️

And just a little update on Sam and Rex. We are still in need to raise more funds for an RV. I’m looking at a few different programs that might assist with purchasing one. I’m also thinkings of doing another type of raffle in the next month or two. In the meantime, Sam is still working on some personal things but staying very hopeful and ready to see his dog. Rex, is still being fostered with me. A true puppy, so silly and full of energy. A total love bug though.

If just:

Sam’s Story: How Rex & Sky Found Him 🤍

Before Rex and Sky ever had names, they had a moment that changed everything.

One cold day at Timpson Park in Longview, Sam was sitting alone, going through one of the hardest weeks of his life. He was facing homelessness again and questioning what came next. While waiting on friends to bring him coffee, he noticed a car pull up nearby.

The people got out, laid an old ripped shirt on the ground… and left two tiny puppies behind.

They were cold. They had no food or water. They tried to chase the car as it drove away.

In that moment, Sam stood up, not just for them, but for himself. He walked over and decided those two lives mattered too much to walk away from.

One puppy tried to protect his sister, scared and shaking. That’s how Rex got his name. When Sam looked into the other puppy’s eyes, they were a striking blue, and Sky became hers.

Sam fed them what little he had, wrapped them in his blanket, and for the first time that day… they all slept.

Rex and Sky didn’t just find a person that day.
They gave Sam a reason to keep going, and Sam gave them a family.

This is why we’re raising funds.
Not just for housing, but for stability, dignity, and the bond that saved all three of them.

💚 Introducing DWELL: The Paws and People Project 💚
and our first community fundraiser

DWELL was created from a simple belief: when community comes together, real needs become possible.

Our very first project is supporting Sam, a young man who aged out of foster care at 21 and grew up in group homes and on the streets. Sam’s dog, Rex, is his family and his constant source of stability. We are raising $10,000 to help Sam and Rex move into a safe RV and cover startup costs so they can have security, dignity, and a place to call home.

To make this happen, we’ve partnered with other animal advocates and are hosting a community wide raffle with prizes you and your pet will love.

1️⃣ A 10x10 custom painting by Pet Portraits by Lori. Valued at $100.

2️⃣ Free year of nail trims for up to 2 dogs per household by Ya Dig? mobile nail trimming service. Valued at $385

3️⃣ A 30 minute photo session with you and your pet by RS Media. Valued at $150.
