Today, we remember. 🤍

On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina forever changed Long Beach and communities across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Twenty-one years later, we remember the lives lost, the homes and businesses destroyed, and the pieces of our community that were forever changed. But we also remember what came after: neighbors helping neighbors, businesses rebuilding, and a community determined to move forward together.

As Long Beach Main Street, we are especially reminded of the resilience of our local businesses and downtown community. So much of what we see and love today was rebuilt through years of hard work, determination, and an unwavering love for Long Beach.

This video is a reminder of where we have been, how far we have come, and the strength of the community we call home.

We will never forget August 29, 2005. 🤍
