Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s neighborhood meeting. We were grateful to have a guest speaker from the Michelle Obama Library, and many of us learned a great deal about the services they offer — including the free parking pass program for national parks. They also shared the critical challenges they are facing due to reduced funding, which may reduce their operations from six days a week to five. In addition, they expressed the need for more engagement from teenagers. Please encourage teens and young children to visit the library, explore books, enjoy free movies, and participate in their programs so we can help keep our community libraries strong and open for everyone.

The library also needs our support at the final budget meeting on August 25 at 3:00 p.m. at Long Beach City Hall (411 W. Ocean Blvd.). Your attendance will help raise awareness about how important our local libraries are to the community.

We are proud to announce the opening of Off the Charts, the first dispensary under our Cannabis Equity Program! 👏

Located in North Long Beach at 6037 Atlantic Ave., this milestone represents the culmination of years of work within the Cannabis Equity Program. This program is designed to ensure that economic opportunities within the regulated cannabis industry are accessible to all residents of Long Beach City. Additionally, the program provides direct grants and supportive services for applicants, including one-on-one technical assistance and financial consulting services! 🤝
