Kesem at Long Beach State Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent's cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community.

Kesem at Long Beach State was founded in 2018 and supports children in the LB community by providing a free week-long summer camp experience and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent's cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the

joys of childhood. Kesem at Long Beach State was founded in 2018 and supports children in the Long Beach community by providing Camp Kesem, a free week-long summer camp experience and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Our chapter is operated by student volunteers and serves campers ages 6-18 per year. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

We’ll be talking all about our Make the Magic event, which is our beautiful fundraising gala where you can volunteer and get involved! We will also be answering any questions about camp or becoming a counselor 🏕️💛

We’re so excited to announce our first Kesem Member Meeting of the SPRING semester! 🌼

We can’t wait to see both new and returning members! This meeting is a great chance to connect, learn more about Kesem, and hang out. We’ll also be going over the Camp Kesem 2026 counselor application, so if you have questions or want help with it, we’ve got you covered—either at the meeting or feel free to message us anytime.

Plus, there will be pizza and snacks, so grab a slice and come chill with us 🍕✨
