an be eligible for Membership. As a downtown Long Beach resident or business owner what do you think can improve the quality of life for Downtown Residents and supporters of urban living? How can we participate with other community groups to ensure equitable resources and an inclusive access to local government, our school district board and healthcare resources? We would like to meet other residents, businesses or promoters of the West Gateway neighborhood that wish to participate in events like planting trees to beautify our streets and create a healthier neighborhood environment. As a community promoters, the Port of Long Beach, provide trees for free to any resident community group willing to organize a tree planting event and follow-up with regular watering to ensure the trees thrive and survive. We host a FREE monthly neighborhood social mixer, “No Worries Wednesday” every 2rd Wednesday of the month so that it’s easy to get together only one evening a month and get to know our neighbors. The social mixer is a great chance to get updates on other FREE community organized events taking place downtown which encourage enjoying the West Gateway neighborhood by engaging neighbors, families, friends and businesses that improve the quality of living downtown and encourage the building of a sustainable community. Together as a community group, we can pool the many creative minds of members, residents and interested individuals from both in and out of our neighborhood, to develop innovative ideas that create opportunities for engagement. Neighbors motivate and encourage each other to take action and sustain commitment to improvements and projects in our neighborhood.
