🐾 Help Support Meow Casa — Our Funds Are Running Low 🐾

Meow Casa is currently caring for over 60 cats, kittens, and ferals, and right now our funds are extremely low. Our planned expansion is on hold until we can raise more donations.

As a small non-profit rescue, everything comes completely out of pocket — food, litter, medical care, spay/neuter, shelter supplies, and daily care. A majority of these kitties came directly from our own community, and now they are safe, loved, fed, and protected instead of struggling on the harsh streets.

Every single dollar truly goes to the cats. Even small donations make a huge difference and help us keep going for the ones who still need us.

If you can donate, share, or help in any way, we are beyond grateful. Thank you for supporting Meow Casa and helping us continue to be a safe haven for these sweet souls. ❤️🐱

Meow Casa started with a simple mission: to protect and care for our local community cats who had nowhere safe to go. What began as feeding a few hungry kitties has blossomed into a full colony that relies on us for daily care, medical attention, and shelter.

Thanks to the incredible support from our community, every cat in our care has been spayed or neutered and medically cleared, which is a huge step in keeping them healthy and preventing more homeless kittens.

Now, as we move into the long-term care phase, these cats still depend on us for daily feeding, flea prevention, vet visits, and safe shelters. While they are healthy now, unexpected medical needs can arise, and ongoing care is essential. Your donations will directly support these cats, ensuring they continue to live safe and comfortable lives.

Please like, comment, and share this post to help us reach more people who can support our mission. Every bit helps, and together, we can make a lasting difference for these cats.

Thank you for being part of the Meow Casa family!

Re-shared — because this matters.

Exactly nothing is free… this is what happens when you think a “free cat” is free.
This is a post from another group.

“I’m looking for a free kitten because shelter prices are a scam.”

Annie posted this on Nextdoor while searching for a kitten for her 8-year-old daughter for Christmas. She had just left a local shelter and was shocked by the $100 adoption fee.

“Shelters shouldn’t be making money by selling pets. Those adoption fees are ridiculous.”

You can probably guess how this ended.

Annie found a free kitten in November. Since she couldn’t hide a kitten until Christmas morning, her daughter received an early gift. She instantly fell in love. The kitten slept with her every night, and she rushed home after school to play with her new best friend. It was perfect… at first.

One week later, the kitten stopped eating, began vomiting, and became lethargic. Annie rushed her to the emergency vet. X-rays and tests suggested panleukopenia. The kitten was hospitalized for fluids and supportive care.

After three days, the kitten survived — thankfully.
The vet bill did not: $3,600.

Later, when the kitten was old enough, Annie searched for a “cheap vet” for vaccines and spay. Quotes came back at over $600. Frustrated, she reached out for help.

We provided information for local low-cost clinics. The least expensive option? $120 — covering spay, rabies, FVRCP vaccines, parasite treatment, and microchip.

That’s only $20 more than the shelter’s so-called “scam” fee.

And she still needed booster shots later.

By the time the kitten was fully vetted, she was a $3,750 kitten.

Worth every penny — but it will take months to pay off the emergency vet bill.

There is no such thing as a free kitten.
When you adopt from a shelter or rescue, your adoption fee helps cover:
• Vaccines
• Spay/neuter
• Microchip
• Parasite treatment
• Health checks

A “free” kitten usually comes with none of that — and no screening for diseases or birth defects.

Adopting from a rescue isn’t a scam.
It’s a bargain — and it saves lives. 🐾❤️

🐾 Meow Casa Rescue would like to give a huge THANK YOU to SNIP Bus 🐾
👉 https://www.facebook.com/snipbus

We have officially scheduled 8 females and 5 males for an upcoming spay/neuter appointment on January 14th 🐱✂️

The total cost comes to just under $1,600.00 which is only one portion of the ongoing expenses required to responsibly care for and help control the feline population.

This is exactly why donations are such an important part of the work we do. Every spay and neuter helps prevent unwanted litters and gives these cats a healthier future.

If you have an extra $5 and feel moved to help support population control and lifesaving care, any amount truly helps—nothing is too small 💛

🎄 Feeling jolly this season—or need a tax write-off? 🎄
Meow Casa is in desperate need of donations to continue caring for the cats who depend on us.

We are currently caring for 51 cats, kittens, and ferals—each one relying on us for shelter, warmth, food, medical care, and safety. While we are incredibly grateful for the few donations we receive, the reality is that most of our expenses come out of pocket.
(And yes… water is the only thing that’s free 💧)

We also have 13 kittens (ages 5–11 months) who are or will soon be ready for adoption. A small adoption fee is required, but it is far less than the true cost of their veterinary exams, spay/neuter surgeries, and vaccinations.

Every donation—big or small—makes a real difference and helps us continue saving lives and creating forever homes 🐾
