📱 “Get off your phone!” Sound familiar?

Is there friction in your home about when your child should get a phone or have access to social media?

Do you have trouble managing your child's screen time and online gaming?

Do you wonder if your child is becoming too dependent on technology?

Do you wish your family could find a healthier balance with screens?

If so, you’re not alone.

The School District of Lodi is partnering with Project Reboot to bring parents an evening with Dino Ambrosi, a digital wellness presenter who has spoken to more than 60,000 students and parents about building healthier relationships with technology.

⏰ 5:30–7:00 PM
📍 Lodi High School Performing Arts Center

The evening will include a 60-minute presentation followed by 30 minutes of Q&A, with practical information about tech addiction, talking with kids about screen time, and creating a healthier balance with technology at home.

Parents will also leave with take-home resources and dinner table discussion guides they can actually use with their families.

💙 LCAT trained 87 12th-grade students on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose and administer Narcan. LCAT also continues to promote the national One Pill Can Kill campaign, which educates students about the risks of counterfeit pills containing fentanyl. Thank you to Mr. Jelinek and Mr. Davis at the School District of Lodi for supporting this important life skill that prepares students for life after high school, whether in college or the workforce.

On Wednesday, September 23, LCAT hosted a Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper Training at Reach Out Lodi.

Participants learned how to recognize warning signs of su***de, respond with care and compassion, and connect someone who may be struggling with the professional support they need.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to learn these important skills. Together, we can raise awareness, strengthen our community, and help save lives. 💙

Remember, you are never alone—and you don’t have to be in a crisis to reach out. Any reason is a good reason to call.

The Lodi Community Action Team (LCAT) is a community coalition with a vision to create a community where all youth are empowered to make healthy choices. 💙

LCAT is a two-person team, and we’d love to introduce you to the people behind the work!

👋 Meet Bryan Bilse, LCAT Director
Bryan is in his 6th school year at the School District of Lodi. He brings a background in law enforcement and working with youth.

🌲 Fun Fact: When he’s not working, Bryan enjoys spending time in the woods and attending sporting events!

👋 Meet Sara McChesney, LCAT Program Coordinator
Sara is in her 3rd school year at the School District of Lodi. She brings a background in social work and working with children, youth, and families.

🎶 Fun Fact: Sara comes from a musical family and even sang in her family band!

We’re proud to be part of the Lodi community and grateful for the many partners, families, schools, and community members who help make LCAT’s work possible. 💙

The 10th annual Walk for Hope will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 9am at the Portage High School Track. Our family-friendly event features laps around the track, speakers, music, art projects, educational booths, and free Su***de Prevention Training.

🚨 LCAT Trailer Policy Update! 🚨

We’re excited to announce that the LCAT Event Trailer is now available for private, alcohol- and drug-free events within the School District of Lodi boundaries! 🎉

Planning a team dinner, family gathering, neighborhood event, or other private celebration? The LCAT Trailer may be available to help make your event fun, safe, and substance-free! The LCAT Trailer is filled with everything you need! Tables and chairs for 40 people, lawn games, table games, thermoses of water and lemonade, and 2 commercial coffee makers. 💙

▫️Anyone who lives within the School District of Lodi

🎉 What kind of events?

▫️Private events held within the School District of Lodi boundaries
▫️Any private, alcohol- and drug-free event that meets LCAT’s reservation guidelines and availability.

💙 September is National Su***de Prevention Month. 💙

This month is a time to raise awareness, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and remind our community that help, hope, and connection matter.

LCAT is partnering with Reach Out Lodi to offer a FREE Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper Training on Wednesday, September 23, from 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

During this training, you’ll learn how to:
🔹 Recognize the warning signs of su***de
🔹 Offer hope and support to someone who may be struggling
🔹 Connect individuals with local, state, and national resources
🔹 Take action when someone needs help

You don’t have to be a mental health professional to make a difference. Sometimes, simply knowing what to look for and what to say can be the first step toward helping someone find hope.
