The People of Lockhart organization remains dedicated to beautifying our community with passion and purpose. Under Larry Branan's leadership, volunteers united to transform several streets and Riverside Park with their tireless efforts to pick up garbage. Today we successfully planted 27 podocarpus shrubs at Lockhart Baptist Church as part of their landscape renovation! 🌿

It was definitely a labor-intensive job, but our amazing volunteers worked hard prepping the beds, laying w**d barrier, and spreading the rock border.👷🏾‍♀️🥾🪚🪏

A big thank you to our crew from Dismas Charities and Larry Branan for always showing up with positive attitudes and plenty of muscle to get the job done! 😎💪🏿💪🏽💪

Today our volunteers kicked off phase 1 of revitalizing the Lockhart Baptist Church landscape! 🌿🌿
A HUGE thanks to these guys!!💪👍

We spent the day pruning and removing overgrown trees and shrubs and clearing out the flower beds to prepare for new plants. 🪵🪚🪏🌱 It's exciting to see the transformation already beginning! 🧑‍🌾🙌😎

We'd love for more of our community to be part of this project. Join us this Saturday, March 14th, for our monthly work day. We'll meet in the church parking lot at 8:30 am ⏰

Bring a shovel, rake, and a willingness to lend a hand. 🦺🪏🧤💪 Many hands make light work, and it's always a fun time working together! 🤝😎

Notice is hereby given that the scheduled meeting of The People of Lockhart for this evening has been canceled due to unforeseen health issues, family emergencies, and scheduling conflicts among certain board members. More big news for Lockhart! After 10 years of waiting, the Lockhart/Pine Hills gap of the Coast to Coast Trail is about to close, connecting the West Orange and Seminole-Wekiva Trails (and the Gulf to the Atlantic Ocean).
The first picture shows the trail path being laid along Pine Hills Road, and the second shows what will eventually be the trail path under OBT and turning north to ultimately connect with the unused trail segment along Maitland Blvd. One of the centerpieces of the state network of trails will now officially run through Lockhart (though not through our hoped-for Downtown.)
