Thanks to the love, support and service of our family, volunteers and community partners, we gave out nearly 1,000 free backpacks to students this summer, pushing us past 4,000 given away since we started.

This year was especially meaningful. We returned to Pride High School, the very place our grandmother Connie S. Amaya spent her career, for the first time since she retired. Walking back through those doors, surrounded by family, volunteers and the community she has loved for decades, is a moment we will never forget.

What started as a small family tradition between a grandmother and her grandson has grown into something much bigger, and it is all because of you.

To every volunteer, donor, friend and neighbor who showed up, cheered us on and helped make this day possible, thank you. You are part of this mission.

We believe every child deserves to start the school year with confidence, dignity and support. Together, we made that possible.

The Connie S. Amaya Education Aid Foundation's annual Free Back to School Backpack Drive returns July 18. This year, we're headed to Pride High School! Over Connie's 46 years, she moved from the 183 location and retired at the new Pecos location. This is her first time back!

Every student welcome. Every backpack free. No registration required.

Sponsorships are open. Central Texas businesses ready to help ensure every Lockhart ISD student starts the year prepared, we'd love to have you stand with us. Logo placement, social recognition and a visible role in this community tradition.

🎉 Celebrating Two Outstanding Young Volunteers 🎉

Please join us in recognizing Amelia and Hayden, two of our youngest yet most committed volunteers serving their Central Texas community.

✨ Amelia is a straight-A student, the top fundraiser for San Marcos Academy and a passionate volunteer. She dedicated her time to multiple community events this year, showing a strong commitment to lifting up her peers and setting a powerful example of leadership and service.

✨ Hayden is a proud honor roll student and a long-time volunteer with CSA Education Aid’s annual Free Backpack Drive. As a student leader in Lockhart ISD, Hayden continues to grow into a thoughtful and motivated changemaker who brings heart and action to everything he does.

These two are already leading by example. We are proud to celebrate them and excited to see what comes next.

The foundation named in her honor reflects the values she still lives every day: kindness, generosity and the belief that every child deserves the tools to succeed. Through your support, we are able to provide:
