We have finished off our first public appearance at the Not Forgotten Memorial Celebration in Manteca. Over the course of Saturday and Sunday, 89 coins were handed out to local vets. We got to hear stories and memories while we talked to those that came by our booth. I want to thank Karleen Smith Kurys with the American legion, and Regina Lackey for inviting us to attend and believing in our mission. We hope to make more appearance in and around our area. A big thank you to all the volunteers that came out to help run the booth.

We are proud to officially launch the Coins for Vets website. 🇺🇸

What began with a simple handshake and a “thank you for your service” has grown into a mission centered on connection, remembrance, and honoring the stories behind the uniforms.

Our new website is a place where veterans and military families can:
⭐ Share their stories
⭐ Learn about our mission
⭐ Follow our journey
⭐ Get involved in helping veterans feel seen, valued, and never forgotten

We invite you to visit, explore, and help us continue preserving the stories that matter most.

Today, Coins for Vets proudly participated in our first official public event at the Not Forgotten Memorial Day Celebration in Manteca. 🇺🇸

It was a beautiful day at Woodward Park filled with remembrance, connection, and gratitude as thousands gathered to honor those who served. Throughout the day, veterans stopped by our booth to receive challenge coins, share stories, and remind us why this mission matters so much.

We are incredibly thankful to every veteran and family member who took the time to talk with us, share memories, and support this growing mission.

Seen. Valued. Never Forgotten.

Join us tomorrow for day 2 from 10am to 4pm!

Our Motto:

Those Who Serve Are Never Forgotten

Our Mission Statement:

Those who serve carry an oath without an expiration date, and we carry it with them. Coins for Vets exists to remind every military member and veteran that they are not alone, not unseen, and not forgotten.

The sacrifice is real, and so is the weight it leaves behind on families, relationships, and mental health. The number 22 is not just a statistic; it is a daily call to action. We believe a handshake, a coin, and a sincere thank you can change a life.

No one left behind. No one forgotten.

My name is Brady Horton. I proudly served my country in the United States Army.

A few years ago, I got the idea to share challenge coins with veterans I would encounter in my everyday life. Just a simple handshake and a sincere “thank you for your service.” The response was incredibly powerful and moving for me and my family. Veterans began sharing their stories with me, and I felt called to do something more.

Today, Coins for Vets is about more than a coin. It is about connection, remembrance, gratitude, and honoring the people behind the uniforms.

I am now collecting stories from veterans and their families with the hope of compiling them into a keepsake booklet that can be shared with veterans, families, and future generations. My hope is that these stories remind all of us that service and sacrifice matter, and that no veteran should ever feel forgotten.

Whether your memory is joyful, difficult, funny, meaningful, or simple, your story matters.

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of listening, learning, and honoring your service.

What started with a simple handshake and “thank you for your service” has grown into something much bigger.

Coins for Vets was founded by Army veteran Brady Horton with one mission, to make sure veterans feel seen, valued, and never forgotten.

We’re honored to begin this journey of connection, storytelling, and gratitude with our community. 🇺🇸
