Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue We are dedicated animal rescuers from all across Michigan working together to save cats and dogs.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue is an all-volunteer, 501c3 registered non-profit rescue that rescues dogs and cats in need throughout Michigan and beyond its borders, to Ohio and other states depending on the need. We pull from rural shelters where adoptions are few and kill rates are high. We focus on 'urgent' lists and those dogs and cats that are overlooked because they are unattractive, older or sick. We believe that every animal should have a second chance at a loving home; even if that loving home is in a hospice situation. We exist and rely solely on the generosity of our donors and our hardworking volunteers.

Today we at Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue are celebrating National Feral Cat Day. While our TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vet-Return) program is only a small part of our organization, we recognize the importance of ensuring that the population of unowned community cats does not continue to increase. Kittens are adorable but over 90% of them die before reaching adulthood. allows cats who cannot live in a home can instead live outdoors, kitten-free, and with better health outcomes. Spay-neuter of feral cats reduces fighting, territorial marking behaviors, transmission of FIV and FELV, etc.

HDDCR has completely TNVRd a full colony of cats this year and placed their kittens for adoption. We are currently working on three additional colonies that have produced dozens of sick kittens this year.
