🎉 We are excited for the 2nd semester of the 🇯🇵 Japanese After School Program at Holmes Middle School!
We have partnered with the Hinoki Foundation and the program will include a focus on learning about career pathways that utilize Japanese/English bilingual and bicultural skills along with:

🔬 STEM activities
💬 Conversation Practice
🍜 Japanese Cooking Lessons
🖌 Japanese Calligraphy
👩‍🏫 In-person teacher led workshops

Cost is $50 thanks to generous donations from Toyota Tsusho and DTE!

Classes are T/W from 3:10 to 5pm for 8 weeks

📢🙌 Thanks to donations we have the ability to sponsor a student in the Japanese After School Program at Holmes with Kids Explore Japan.

✍️ Interested students can send an essay, no more than 500 words, stating why they are interested in the program to [email protected].

Interested in the Kids Explore Japan After-School Program but still have questions?

Join us with Kids Explore Japan on Saturday, October 26th at 9 am for a Zoom information session!

❗️ Registration is limited to 15 students!

About the Program:

🏫 10-week program at Holmes Middle School (students don't need to attend Holmes to participate)
🕒 1.5 hour in-person, teacher led instruction, 3 times a week
📅 Tues, Wed, & Thur, 3-4:30
👩‍🏫 Curriculum developed by KEJ Senior Teacher and former Niji-Iro teacher, Fumiyo Sensei
💻 Access to self-guided video modules to assist in student learning
🙋 $525 per child (only $17.50 per session!)
🙋‍♀️ Open to all students, previous Japanese experience recommended. Students' language levels will be assessed at the beginning of the program.
