The Executive Board of the NAACP Suwannee County Branch extends our sincere appreciation to our outgoing President, Mr. Marcus A. Allen, for his faithful, dedicated, and consistent leadership in restoring our local branch.
Over two years ago, a group of concerned citizens challenged Mr. Allen to revive a branch that had remained inactive for years. Despite his demanding schedule as a business owner and community leader, he accepted the challenge with determination and vision. Through his leadership, the branch was successfully reinstated and has grown to nearly 100 members, creating renewed momentum for advocacy, civic engagement, and community service throughout Suwannee County.
During Mr. Allen's leadership, the branch proudly hosted Suwannee County’s first annual Juneteenth Festival, Community Vendors Day, Christmas Toy Drive and other community activities that has blessed families across our community. Time and again, we have witnessed Mr. Allen give generously of his time, finances, and resources. His unwavering commitment to serving others has left a lasting impact on countless lives.
While we understand and respect his decision to resign as President, we remain deeply grateful for the foundation he has laid for this branch and for the citizens of Suwannee County. His leadership has positioned us for continued growth and success.
As Scripture reminds us:
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” — Psalm 37:23
Mr. Allen, thank you for being that good man. Your service, sacrifice, and leadership will not be forgotten. We pray God’s continued blessings upon your life as you continue serving the citizens of Suwannee County in new and meaningful ways.
After thoughtful and prayerful consideration, the Executive board vetted and voted Reverend Billy White, Sr. to serve as President of the Suwannee County NAACP Branch 5137-B.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Executive Board
