Our neighbors in Leawood have opened up membership to the Leawood Pool for those outside their neighborhood. Sign up today before they sell out!

The pool cover is off, and the grounds are getting cleaned for Opening Day, Saturday, May 23rd!

Great turnout this morning for the HHNA cleanup at Meriwether Park!

Neighbors spent the morning cleaning out flower beds, trimming bushes and crepe myrtles, and tidying up the park entrance. It’s amazing what a little teamwork can do in just a short amount of time.

Thank you to everyone who came out, brought tools, rolled up their sleeves, and helped make Meriwether Park look even better. We’re grateful for neighbors who care about this park and the community around it.

Big news from last night’s HHNA Spring Meeting: Meriwether Park is moving closer to a new ADA-compliant, rocket/space-themed playground thanks to an initiative through Little Rock Parks & Rec. The Meriwether Park Task Force is also fundraising, with a fiscal sponsor in tow, so that all donations can be tax deductible.

We’re also doing a quick cleanup this Saturday morning at 9:00 at Meriwether Park. If you’re interested in joining us for an hour, please message Sherry McDonnell!

Other meeting highlights included the election of Brad Burleson as Vice President and Dylan Hamby as a new board member, a steady treasurer’s report, and an excellent presentation from Biology Professor Janet Lanza of Arkansas Wild Spaces on native plants and managing invasive species.

Kathy Webb, Little Rock City Director, Ward 3 shared city updates, thanked volunteers, and noted improvements in recent crime reports.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the recent block party, with a shout out to Katie Elaine for organizing it, and to all who continue supporting HHNA’s work to keep our neighborhood connected, welcoming, and beautiful! 😍

We have a very special guest joining us: Janet Lanza, Professor of Biology at UALR, Outreach Coordinator for Arkansas Wild Spaces, and a Central Arkansas Master Naturalist. Janet will be sharing her expert insights on the “why” and “how” of planting native species in our own landscapes—perfect for our neighborhood beautification efforts! 🌱 🌼 🌲

What a fun day at the block party! 🎉

A huge thank you to all the neighbors who attended and helped make today so special. We live in a neighborhood full of such great people! 🥰

A big shoutout to everyone who contributed their time, energy, food, drinks, setup, cleanup, and all the little details that made the day such a success! 🙏🏼

Best of all, new friendships were made today, and that’s the whole purpose of events like these. Good friendships make strong neighborhoods. 🏡

This morning, our streets were full of energy as the Catholic High Rocket 5K got underway! 🏃‍♂️ It’s events like these that help keep our neighborhood alive. 🏡

Big thanks to Catholic High School for Boys for continuing the tradition of the Rocket 5K and giving us another reason to be proud of our neighborhood! 🫶🏼

One week from Saturday! 🤩 Join us for the HHNA Block Party! N. McKinley St, on the east side of Hall High School from 2:00–5:00 PM. 🎉

We’ll have everything from food and drinks to music and games — lots of great company — and even a huge inflatable slide and face painting for the kids (and kids at heart)! 🎶 🛝 🎨

We’ll have the street closed from H Street to Evergreen most of the day. Parking will be available at the high school and along H Street. 🚧

A block party is a simple but meaningful way to bring neighbors together and build stronger connections. The more we know our neighbors, the stronger, safer, and more connected our neighborhood becomes. 🏡 🤗

Come out, say hello, and help us keep building the kind of neighborhood we all want to be part of! 👋🏼

We’re pleased to announce that our April Yard of the Month award goes to Jim Hollander and Rosalie Otters at 6605 Pleasant Place! 🌳 🌺

We’re proud to honor the beauty and hard work Jim and Rosalie put into keeping their property looking so lovely and helping make the Hall High neighborhood shine. Jim and Rosalie are retired and have called our neighborhood home for many years. 🏡

A special thank you to HHNA Secretary Lucille DeGostin, who has known Jim and Rosalie for years and had the pleasure of delivering the award today. 🏆

For their efforts, Jim and Rosalie received a gift card from Cantrell Gardens along with the neighborhood’s Yard-of-the-Month sign and, of course, plenty of well-earned bragging rights! 🌺

Please join us in congratulating Jim and Rosalie and thanking them for supporting HHNA and helping keep our neighborhood beautiful. 👏🏼

Last Saturday morning, a small but mighty crew spent a little time picking up litter in the neighborhood. Thank you to the HHNA Beautification Team for your dedication to keeping our neighborhood clean and, well, beautiful! 🤩

Because of the lack of litter in the neighborhood, we are proud to have cancelled our official cleanup day and our team knocked it out in an hour! Thank you to all the neighbors who help take care of picking up litter out on walks or even in front of your homes. 🫶

Be on the lookout for our next cleanup events in June, September, and December! 💥
