We would like to have maximum participation this week as we are testing our network for likely the last time ahead of fall severe weather season.

We will be watching this marginal severe threat on Thursday. Remember to check the website for “Listening Watch” status. If there are severe storms, chances are, we’ll be listening to the network for reports.

A Marginal Risk for severe weather exists on Thursday. A few isolated storms may become severe across part of northern and central Arkansas ahead of an approaching weak cold front. If a storm manages to become severe, damaging wind gusts would be the primary hazard.

Listening watch has concluded on 8/26 at 10:05 PM after about 7 hours.

We took about a half dozen wind damage reports and at least one report of large hail.

Thanks to all the spotters who contributed reports. And thanks to our volunteer net controls who monitored the network for traffic this evening.

Thanks to everyone who participated in today's brief Auxcomm SKYWARN net.

We activated today to allow us to provide some training to one of our new net control operators, Aric, KJ5LNI.

Having completed his training program, Aric joins the team of net controls, bringing our number to 8 active net control stations. We expect to continue training this summer/fall as we have several more NCS volunteers in the pipeline.
