We were happy to hear some more lovely music from the Gervais family fiddle played by Little Canada's own Laura Linehan at the French Heritage Cooridor Conference at the end of May! The fiddle has been named Ben in honor of the Gervais family. On the right, Pierre Girard is leading the group in song.

Louis Jesperson Jr. moved to Little Canada with his parents in 1945. After his discharge from the Army, Louie and his wife Mildred bought a house on LaBore Road and he was appointed the first maintenance supervisor for the city, which he held until his death in 1971. He was also a private excavating contractor and once, while digging a trench and dry well, a seven foot deep ditch collapsed on Pat Valento, who was helping to lay the pipe. Louie jumped into action, shoveling away as much dirt as he could and then scooping Pat out of the cave in with his backhoe, saving Pat's life.
