Still have our elves out being the good in someone’s day🫶🏼 Thank you Hallie, and Ohio Lasers 2032 Leigh , for all your help wrapping all in need of a hug from heaven💛

We had the sweetest surprise today from Hallie Tomecko, her softball group Ohio Lasers 2032 Leigh has been collecting blankets as their service project to honor the memory of Bentley Spurlock. 💙

They are being taught that “It’s always more than just softball,” and what a beautiful lesson that is.

Thank you to Hallie and her softball team for the blankets and thinking of our patients.

Bentley’s family started a nonprofit dedicated to collecting and donating blankets to those in need of being wrapped in a hug- Bentley’s Blankies.These blankets will be given to our hospice patients, bringing comfort when it’s needed most.

Ohhh and i did it all in your Hey Dudes, Buddy! The ones you used to get so made at me for wearing😂🫶🏼

We can not thank everyone enough for supporting us and helping us honor our sweet Bentley! A week full of making others smile, like Bentley would.
Today we topped off the birthday week, with the help of Maylees softball team and one of their sister teams. We spent the morning crafting, eating sweets, and passing out Blankies to so many deserving residents in an assistant living facility. The smiles were everything! Some telling the girls this would be the only gift they will recieve simply made all the hard work behind this mission worth it! 
Some of our amazing friends (classmates of Bentley and Maylee) honored Bentley by filling blessing boxes with 13 “birthday cake kits” bc everyone deserves cake on their birthday.
YOU GUYS!!! And did you catch 550 Blankies are now wrapping someone in a hug from heaven tonight!!! That now puts us over 1000 Blankies total, since we have started! All because of the amazing support system that surrounds us!🫶🏼
We are forever left with this giant hole in our hearts, but for these moments our hearts were filled with soooo much joy!
Grief is a strange balance of wanting to crumble and give up, to learning how to live life and move forward. Some days are so cold and ugly, but some days you get to speak their name, tell their story and make someone smile bc of them. This week was a week that was exhausting. Mentally, and physically… but we got through it smiling in between the tears, with so much pride telling Bentley’s story and sharing his love!
Saying we are grateful for what we do have would be an understatement. And it’s because of all of you we get these bright moments in between the darkness!
Year 3 was a success and we can not wait to get back to work making next year even better🫶🏼💛

Spent the morning organizing and counting… gearing up to celebrate our sweet boy this week🥹💛
We are so excited for the events ahead. So many hugs from heaven will be passed out in memory of Bentley, helping fill the hole forever left in our hearts.
We will continue to collect any new blankies this week, then start our stock for next year. Please reach out if you still have donations that need picked up🫶🏼

This year they will help out with delivery day, helping us cover more parts of Ohio! We are so thankful for these little softball elves helping out with our mission to honor Bentley ♥️

As we move into Thanksgiving week, we reflect on how blessed we are.❤️ Today, our team collected blankets for our annual service project. This year we are participating in "Bentley's Blankies" honoring Bentley Spurlock. Stay tuned for total # of blankies collected and delivery day highlights!

Bentley loved “Cowboy”, his baby blankie. It went everywhere with him. Every doctor and nurse knew how he liked to be tucked in with the “Tag Up”!
After he passed and we were making all the decisions, we had a hard time with the thought of what to do with Cowboy. I knew he needed it with him… but I couldn’t imagine never seeing it again. Maylee, being the brave strong girl she is came up with the idea to cut her blankie “Pokie” in half and cut Cowboy in half and sew them together. That way we had a piece with us and he had a piece of home with him. So that’s exactly what we did.
Cowboy and Pokie, now together forever has caught a lot of tears and given us so many needed cuddles.
My dream is for every kid to have that security and feeling of home in a blankie. 💛
