Animal Saver Pride participated in a real-life rescue today! We came across a sand hill crane who had been hit by a car and was unable to use its legs at all. We made some calls and were pointed to an emergency vet. We ran home to get our dog crate, loaded the injured bird up, and safely delivered him to the vet. Many people helped on the journey, and we are glad to have been part of it!

Animal Saver Pride has a goal to run 20 miles combined in the next 8 days! They are looking for sponsors to help fundraise for the Kratt Brothers Creature Hero Foundation, who are looking to purchase a large lot of land to serve as a refuge and preserve for North American Wildlife!

The Animal Saver Pride got to experience an extra-special event today, courtesy of their Auntie Jenn! The kids took a virtual field trip to visit the animal keepers of the penguins at The Bronx Zoo. It was so educational and the kids got to ask lots of questions! The keepers kept saying they were impressed with the questions the kids had! More than anything, it created an even deeper love and appreciation for wildlife for these three kiddos. As Jackson said at the end of the zoom session, “Penguins are now my favorite animal!” That’s what it’s all about- fostering a respect and affection for animals, because that’s what will drive the passion for protection.
During this holiday season, consider giving a gift that gives back...such as adopting an animal in honor of someone, buying them a virtual experience like this that directly supports wildlife conservation, or making a direct donation to a reputable conservation organization.

Can you see what we see?? The Animal Saver Pride observed several of these critters in the wild today...but this one is very small and hard to see! It’s a search-and-find wildlife game! Zoom in for a better chance to see this hidden creature!

Our resident “lizard lady” found this little guy, who had gotten himself stuck on a sticker. After she delicately removed the litter from him, he must have felt grateful because he spent a few moments with her before running off happily into the grass. Well done, Laila!

Our Animal Saver Pride is hard at work completing projects in their own backyard to help creatures, as part of the Kratt Brothers Creature Hero team. Here, they are planting wildflowers for butterflies (in pots, gardens, and the fields around their house.) We each hold the power to make a difference!
