🎒✨ 675 STUDENTS. 80+ VOLUNTEERS. 30 COMMUNITY PARTNERS. ONE INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY. ✨🎒
We are still smiling after our 2nd Annual Back to School Resource Fair! 💙
This year, 675 students and their families joined us for a morning filled with resources, school supplies, food, books, haircuts, fun, and—most importantly—COMMUNITY!
There are so many people who made this day possible, and we cannot say THANK YOU enough!
🙌 More than 80 volunteers helped us set up, clean up, welcome families, and run stations throughout the event.
✂️ 7 amazing hairstylists volunteered their time and talents to provide 90 FREE back-to-school haircuts! A HUGE thank you to Blades to Fades Barber Shop, Attitudes Salon in Lincoln, and Agape Love Salon in Roseville for sending stylists to spend their Saturday helping our students head back to school looking and feeling their best! 💇♀️💇♂️❤️
🤝 30 community partners joined us to connect directly with families and provide resources, information, activities, and supplies.
🎒 We distributed 575 backpacks to help students start the school year ready to learn.
🌭 Rotary kept everyone fed by cooking an incredible 1,100 hot dogs!
📚 The Kiwanis Club of Lincoln gave away more than 400 books, helping our students start the year with something new to read.
🍿 And because every good celebration needs treats, we made 480 sticks of cotton candy and handed out 400+ bags of popcorn!
👕 Our Hub Clothes Closet was open for families to shop for clothing and other essentials.
🥐 Feeding the Foothills brought 34 boxes of Starbucks food so families could take food home with them.
🎤 Tamraloo Studios kept the energy going as our amazing MC, and throughout the morning we gave away 18 raffle prizes! A special thank you to the Latino Leadership Council, Ken Aquino with Edward Jones, MISI Community Solutions, and all who contributed prizes—including our very own Gladding McBean, who donated our grand prize, a 32-inch TV! 📺🎉
And behind every one of these numbers is a student, a family, a volunteer, a community organization, or a neighbor who showed up.
To our community partners—thank you for continuing to invest your time, resources, and hearts into our families.
To our volunteers and staff—thank you for showing up early, staying late, lifting boxes, handing out supplies, making food, directing families, cleaning up, and doing the hundreds of little things it takes to make an event like this happen.
And to our families—thank you for spending your morning with us and allowing us to be part of your back-to-school journey. Seeing 675 students walk through this event and leave with smiles, supplies, resources, and excitement for the year ahead is exactly why we do this work. ❤️
The Hub is more than a place to receive resources. It is a place to build connections, strengthen families, and remind one another what is possible when a community takes care of its own.
