Nebraska Christian Home Educators Association The NCHEA was founded in 1986 under the name Nebraska Home Educators Association. The NCHEA is a non-profit 501(c)(4) corporation.

The Nebraska Christian Home Educators Association (NCHEA) is a volunteer driven, non-profit organization founded to encourage and support Christian families in the education of their children at home in accordance with Biblical principles. In 1993, the name was changed to Nebraska Christian Home Educators Association (NCHEA) to more effectively identify the fundamental principles on which the leadership of the NCHEA functions and its mission to serve Nebraska Christian homeschooling families. The NCHEA leadership is comprised of Christian homeschool families - all volunteers - who support the NCHEA's Statement of Faith and Statement of Position. The Bible serves as the foundation on which the leadership functions.

Several families have reached out to us with similar stories to Andrew Coates in Fremont. We want to let you all know that we have a piece of legislation drafted to make homeschool diplomas and transcripts legally equivalent to accredited diplomas, and will find a senator willing to introduce it in the next legislative session. The NCHEA, as always, is supporting and defending your homeschool freedom in Nebraska.

We are closely monitoring this situation along with HSLDA and are also in conversation with the Coates family to help ensure this is done right. Stay tuned for future endeavors from the NCHEA to help protect ALL homeschoolers in Nebraska.
