First United Methodist Church Lincoln At First Church Lincoln, we strive to be a community where all are welcome, all are valued, and all are loved.

Grounded in faith and guided by compassion to living out an affirming and inclusive love - in our worship, our relationships, and our outreach. Brief History:
In 1887, three Methodist colleges in Nebraska came together to establish a new university. A tract of 3.5 miles northeast of Lincoln was purchased by the first Trustees, and a new town was incorporated as University Place. On November 18, 1888, the First Methodist Episcopal Church of University Place began. For 15 years, the group met in college facilities. Lots were purchased adjoining the campus and the church met in their basement from 1903 to 1907. They returned to Wesleyan until the completed structure was consecrated on December 12, 1909, and dedicated debt-free a year later. We worship under the largest art glass dome in Nebraska, and we proudly proclaim the Risen Christ and are committed to diversity and inclusion of all persons.

First United Methodist Church is seeking four Music Ministry Interns for the 2026–2027 academic year!

This is a paid position — $100 per week — and a wonderful opportunity for high school and college students who have a passion for music and a desire to serve through worship ministry. 🎶❤️

🌎🍞 World Communion Sunday 🍷💛

Last Sunday, we joined Christians around the world in celebrating World Communion Sunday.

Together, we gathered around the table for Holy Communion and joined the universal community of faith in remembering our shared commitment to the ministry of Christ.

What a beautiful reminder that while we may worship in different places and communities, we are connected through our common faith and our shared table. 🌎❤️

A big thank you to Jennifer Honebrink for helping us celebrate the day by reciting the Communion words in German!💛

🥫 Little Food Pantry Update 💛

Thank you for your continued support of our Little Food Pantry and Blessing Box ministry. Because of your generosity, we are able to help neighbors in our community who are facing food insecurity.

Our current needs are:

✨Chicken/Tuna Helper
✨ Mac and Cheese

While these items are greatly appreciated, our greatest need right now is monetary donations. Financial gifts allow our volunteers to purchase needed items in bulk and respond quickly to changing needs in the pantry.

Donations can be placed on the Social Justice & Outreach table in the southwest corner of the sanctuary.

Every contribution—whether food or financial—helps make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. Thank you for your continued support and generosity! 💛
