ROOM FOR DOUBT (R4D) offers a variety of resources for anyone with genuine curiosity and questions about Christianity. R4D provides materials through in-person and online presentations, its website (www.roomfordoubt.com), and its app. Users can easily ask questions, search for answers, and conveniently share articles and videos. R4D has a growing number of curriculum options. Our featured curriculum is called "Basic Questions." This six-week series is ideally designed for entire churches, but it can be used in multi-church campaigns, Christian schools, campus ministries, and small groups. It includes message manuscripts, adult & youth discussion guides, and many resources (e.g., videos for promotion, video message bumpers, special graphics/slides, song suggestions, etc.). Discussion guides are now conveniently accessible within the mobile app. The series covers doubt, God’s existence, Jesus’ identity, evil & suffering, the Bible’s reliability, and truth & tolerance. The materials were written by Mark Mittelberg, Garry Poole, and Lee Strobel, with additional resources by Dr. Rich Knopp and Dr. Zach Breitenbach. Our lesson series called "Strengthen Your Faith" is for Christian camps (high school & college), church classes, small groups, youth groups, college campus ministries, home schools, Christian schools, and families. Each lesson provides a teacher outline with notes, a student outline, recommended online resources, and discussion questions. The 15 lessons cover doubt, evil & suffering, justice and equality, morality, apologetics, the reliability of Scripture, Jesus' resurrection, truth & tolerance, and more! We are working on other video-based curriculum options: (1) a 24-week series for high school church youth groups that covers basic Christian beliefs, the Christian worldview, non-Christian worldviews, and apologetics; (2) a 1-2 session resource specifically for high school graduating seniors; and (3) a small group or class curriculum on Richard Knopp's book, Truth About God: What Can We Know and How Can We Know It? From 2013-2022, Room For Doubt was fully funded by a private foundation and hosted at Lincoln Christian University. It is now a separate ministry that no longer receives grant funds. Its continuing operation now depends on donations by individuals and churches. Dr. Richard Knopp is the Executive Director and Professor Emeritus of Philosophy & Christian Apologetics at LCU. Hannah Brimner is the Technology and Social Media Specialist. Please follow our page, use our valuable resources, and spread the word about Room For Doubt!

Submitted question from Kirra: If God is all knowing, why didn’t he leave the forbidden fruit out of the garden, knowing that Adam and Eve would eat it?

Submitted question from Kirra: If God is all knowing, why didn't he leave the forbidden fruit out of the garden, knowing that Adam and Eve would eat it? This question is a good one because it is easy to wonder why a perfectly holy God who hates sin and does not want us to sin would put us in c

Room For Doubt took a display, hosted a lunch breakout, and connected with many old (and new) friends at the RENEW.org Gathering (Apr. 20-22). It was especially joyful to co-present at the lunch with Dr. Zach Breitenbach, former Associate Director at Room For Doubt, and to hear Rachel Younis, former student of Dr. Rich Knopp, as a main stage speaker. Based on the live survey, significant doubts are a major concern for many churches and families.

Unlike “Nones” and “Dones,” many church-adjacent Christians want to return to a local body—but they feel stuck.

“Umms” were active church members in the past. They take Jesus seriously and want to belong to a local congregation. And they’re also uncertain about how to reengage after two years of upheaval.

What might “church home” look like for them in this liminal time?

Shawn shares a question from a "new believer" about different Bible interpretations, especially regarding baptism: I'm trying to explain to a new believer the different interpretations of the Bible. A stumbling point for him, for example, is why some churches preach that one must be b

God’s intention is not to force us against our wills to believe in His existence; rather, He wants us to go beyond believing in Him. He wants us to choose to love Him.

There is no doubt that God could make His existence more obvious to us. For example, God could appear to every person on a daily basis and remind them that He is God. Whenever we are tempted to sin, God could take on a physical form and perform miracles before our eyes to remind us of His existence

“I hope you know you don’t need to have an answer to every question in order to become a Christian.”

“I realize that,” John replied. “But if I’m reading you guys right, my main question deals with something you all consider to be a fairly big deal.”

“Maybe or maybe not,” I said. “What is it?”

Emphatically, John shot back: “I don’t believe in the resurrection of Christ!”

“I’d like to become a Christian,” said John, a fast-talking, hard-hitting commercial banker. “But I still have a few questions that are hanging me up…” I was meeting with John for the first time at the request of one of our church’s small group leaders who had been dealing for some tim...

“Is there any evidence outside the bible that Jesus was placed in a tomb to begin with, and not left up on the cross, or disposed of some other way?”

Question submitted by Joseph L. on Room For Doubt's page: "Is there any evidence outside the bible that Jesus was placed in a tomb to begin with, and not left up on the cross, or disposed of some other way?" Some Responses: Thanks for your great question! In making a histori
