For our kids ages 10 to 24, su***de is the SECOND leading cause of death (NAMI, 2025).

Not car accidents. Not illness. This.

Sit with that, because our children are telling us something and we cannot afford to look away. The hill they’re climbing is steeper than the one we knew — younger, louder online, lonelier in person than any generation before them.

Hell on the Hill exists for them. Every lap, every dollar, every hard conversation is us refusing to lose one more.

The age group most likely to be quietly struggling? 18 to 25.

Young adults report serious thoughts of su***de more than any other age group — around 12.6% (NAMI, 2025). The ones we call ‘just starting out.’ The ones we assume have it all ahead of them.

They’re standing at the bottom of a hill nobody warned them about, wondering if they’re the only one who finds it this hard.

They’re not. And this September, we’re going to prove it — together, out loud, in person.

You do not have to earn your rest.

Somewhere along the way we learned that we’re only allowed to stop once we’re empty — that rest is a reward for productivity instead of a requirement for being alive.

Rest is not the prize at the end of the climb. It’s part of how you climb at all.

Sit down. Breathe. The hill will still be there, and so will you — steadier for having stopped.

Some mornings, courage doesn’t look like anything at all.

It looks like keeping the appointment. Answering the text. Eating something. Staying.

We hand out medals for the loud kinds of brave. But the quiet kind — the decision to still be here when part of you begged to disappear — that’s the one that saves lives.

If all you did today was stay, you did the bravest thing on the list.

It’s back. 🖤

HELL ON THE HILL — 2026.

📅 September 13 · 📍 Pioneers Park · Lincoln, NE. Fifty laps up a sledding hill, at your own pace, because that’s exactly how healing works — one stubborn step at a time.

This is more than an event. It’s a day where we drag mental health out of the shadows and into the sunlight, together. Where the climb becomes the conversation.

Mark your calendar. Bring your people. We climb again.

“You can rest. You can ask for help. But you cannot quit.”

I say this to myself on the days the climb feels like too much. Not as a threat — as a promise. Rest is allowed. Needing people is allowed. Falling apart for a while is allowed.

The only thing that isn’t? Giving up on yourself.

Whatever hill you’re on today, you don’t have to summit it by nightfall. Just don’t put down your own life. Keep going — even slowly. Especially slowly.

I used to think asking for help was weakness.
Now I know it's the bravest lap I've ever climbed.
That's the whole reason Healing Heights exists — because someone had to say it out loud first.
Now it's your turn. 💚

53% of high school girls report persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness.
More than half. Sit with that for a second.
Girls are taught to hold it together, smile through it, and carry everyone else's feelings before their own.
Hell on the Hill is a place to put that weight down, even for one lap. 💚

Men die by su***de at nearly 4x the rate of women — and remain the least likely to ask for help.
We're taught to "handle it," "man up," "shake it off."
That silence is costing lives.
To every man reading this: you are allowed to not have it figured out.
Come climb with us Sept 13. 💚
